Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I...Understand why it works that way, but man, that's weird. I wonder if all those random instance Gold Saucer things work the same way.
wait, leaving diadem gives you a lockout penalty? am i misunderstanding this or...
I haven't tested this so I'm guessing here.
Letting the invite for the diadem time out or declining it might count towards the times you have declined to enter a duty that was ready, leaving the diadem after getting in should not do anything to penalize you.
If you drop out of a duty and get the debuff that locks you out from queues I assume it also locks you out of going to the diadem since it's using the same system so you can't spend the 30 minutes you're locked out of queueing for duties gathering stuff in the diadem.
Say you just quit a combat duty like an expert roulette. You get slapped with the 30min penalty, right? Well if you were gonna go to diadem or do chocobo racing, you can't. Can't even participate in LoV or triple triad. You're literally locked out of any duty that reserves an instance, even if you're not doing any combat.

I mean, it is a punishment for abandoning a group of people trying to clear an instance. If people could just leave then go do Diadem for 30mins or go do GS instance activities to kill the time, it wouldn't be as effective a punishment.Say you just quit a combat duty like an expert roulette. I doubt it can be de-coupled anyway, nor would they want to de-couple it, given all instance-based reservation systems use the DF coding, and the punishment specifically prevents the player from executing DF system functions, while doubling as extra incentive to make people think twice about leaving. Next time you think about leaving an instance, make sure you have something planned for the next 30 minutes that doesn't involve the 95% of content that's behind instances, or just slug it out.

You don't get penalized for leaving Diadem since it's gathering instance. Only from battle instances if you didn't form a party with sufficient friends or pf. But yea the 30 minute penalty should only be for the latter and not affect the ones that aren't combat related.
It's not meant to be a slap on the wrist punishment, it's just meant to deter pick-and-choosing on roulettes.I mean, it is a punishment for abandoning a group of people trying to clear an instance. Potayto potahto. You still abandoned 3/7/23 other players in an instance, and depending on time of day & role, could make the instance unclearable/immensely unlikely to get a replacement (has happened to me multiple times since I play in very late evenings), so it doubles as a means to deter pick and choosing roulettes, but also to abandoning an instance in general.
I feel the punishment should only extend to group content, and that is something that the Diadem is not. If the punishment was supposed to even inhibit solo features, then the penalty would extend to literally everything in the game. It may as well force you to log out.
It's probably because the Diadem was once group content so then it still has some aspects of it in its design, including the penalty for leaving DF content. And that the penalty affects present day Diadem either is an oversight, or removing it isn't a simple task.
