This is about the 5.3 story QTE, where it's considered a party wipe if any one person fails the QTE, and it resurrects everyone before the QTE so you can't just remain dead beforehand so you don't have to do it. It's also not even against Bahamut, nor can I think of any particular fight against Bahamut where a QTE is involved, but maybe there is one somewhere that I just don't remember.

If a player dies on purpose to avoid doing a QTE, isn't that considered an exploit or cheat? Who will perform the transition to the next phase then if everyone decides to die?

It's actually possible to skip both the Sword of Light and the Bahamut summon if your DPS is high enough, so I don't blame some people for being unaware of it.

Even then, like I said, the game resurrects dead people for this QTE to force everyone to participate, so I'm failing to see what point there would be in letting this kill you.

You can't avoid the QTE by dying. It resurrects you and makes you do the QTE anyways.

I mean just get killed by bahamat and let the healer know not to raise you until after the QTE event. seriously if you are dead before it happens it recognizes that and it relies on everyone else. You avoid the QTE and you move on in the story.

So I'm wondering if this is some new way or if we are not playing the same game.

I'm talking about the fight that you were partly wrong about, while you were meme'ing on someone for saying something entirely wrong :^)

I do agree that dying to Bahamut is silly though, since the QTE isn't all that difficult anyway.

The day 1 groups that I healed through never pushed it below 50% before Bahamut got summoned.

It's not more an exploit than asking someone to craft an item for you. People just help each other out.

When someone dies to avoid the QTE then this single person may get an advantage by passing something wich that person is unable to pass otherwise - but the group as a whole is at a disadvantage. The dead person has to be revived afterwards and gets a debuff wich reduces the damage output. That's hardly an exploit.

And of course when everyone does this the group is unable to clear the fight.
