I mean if you look around I fully expect to see some dark corner of Limsa where people are endlessly shouting Ayayaya for 24 hours a day. Pretty much everyone in the comment section seems to understand but you know it never hurts to check incase I missed this secret content.

I guessI'm a Weeb for naming an Au Ra with a Japanese word for a surname. BTW Jigoku means Hell. aka her name is Mary Hell. My other main, the one seen here is Marielle. which can be pronounced Mary Hell. :P But yes I guess that makes me a weeb, and a 50yo with a bad case of Chunibyo.

It's just a dumb insult that has no bases. It's like calling a nerd a geek, like really? I don't know I never seem to understand the whole "weeb" thing when it came to this game. But seriously-er. Japanese media is precious, and I generally prefer JP games and animated TV entertainment. But I am also adult person, trying to keep up appearance of normally functioning person. Easiest way to achieve that is by putting my best kuudere mojo on, shutting up and hiding my terrible fujo tendencies outside internet.

Its a Japanese game, it has cat girls in it....so those who haven't played the game will easily just generalize it as a game for weebs.

Outside of JP names, actual weeb tendencies are pretty low in game. Probably due to XIV's high ex-WoW population. It's nothing like the weeb world that was FFXI. People saying, "W." for K and stuff. People trying to act like they are Japanese when they aren't etc.

For me, Weeb was always one of those terms I never took very seriously. Me and my brother used to joke that we're self hating weebs, and relish those internet jokes about it. Like that one that goes something like, "So I was in a manga store the other day, just getting some pocky while window shopping through the new volumes, when this fuckin' weeb came up to me, asking me about a manga I like."

To me a weeb is somebody who builds their entire identity around Japanese culture, while not actually being Japanese. Like, they watch anime subbed, and pick up a few JP words here and there, but never bother to learn the language, but then turn around and act like they know it intimately with all its connotations and such. Lord around like they're the only gaijin that truly understand Japan and its culture. Pretty rare these days, honestly, but it was pretty run of the mill in FFXI back in the early 2000s.

I mean we have rothgar yeah but they have worgen, tauren,foxes, and let's not forget druids who can turn into like six different animals. Also lions pride inn on moongaurd. I'll take our catgirls, dragon lolis, and sentient veggies over furry force any day.
