I wish more people understood this. There's no reason to get all uppity about a potential wipe, this stuff happens.

I mean, if you're optimizing your damage to the level that you only heal the tank when absolutely necessary to prevent a wipe, I'd expect Benediction to be used almost on cooldown. You trust your tank so there's no need to save it for emergencies, right? With the timing of a typical Heroes' Gauntlet run you can use it once in each section between bosses and once at each boss, for a total of six uses. But this healer used it a grand total of one time. Some real time savings there.
Well, that's why I said usually. Not every healer I come across will juggle proper but to be truly honest, me being impressed simply has to do with healers wanting and doing the juggle whereas there's still quite a lot of healers who want to play as safely as possible. It's kind of like how I appreciate, for example, a pld using his HG as many times as the run permits it because that pld knows it just goes to waste being reserved for "oh shit" moments that rarely happen.

Again, don't stress about healer's "how low can you go" game. Wheter or not they play it properly, is irrelevant as long as you do your part proper. If they let you die--and possibly get the entire party wiped--that's on them, not you. Heck, get smug about it too (not ingame though, we don't know what kind of rise you'd get from them lol).

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

    Thanks a lot server ticks.

And the healer is all "Tank why did you die?"

    ...Gee i bloody wonder.

And then there's the one who started hard-casting cure 2 when i was one hit away from death. I died before his cast finished.

And if i try to take matters into my own hands and Clemency to prevent that?

"BAD TANK! DPS WASTE! TRUST YOUR HEALER! NO IT DOES NOT MATTER THAT THE HEALER ALREADY LET YOU DIE! TRUST THE HEALER! BAD TANK!"

    You just can't win.
Or you could have used Hallowed Ground, but then you'd have no story to for your "victim tank" post of the week...

server tick jokes aside, DF would be a much more pleasant and smooth experience if people just laughed off mistakes instead of resenting one another(like your tank in that story). Yes, i kno, another unpopular opinion by yours truly. Also, idk why I'm unnecessarily using small font. Maybe I'm trying to spice up Tales of DF life? I shouldn't overthink this.
Well, welcome to the unpopular opinion club. This game just simply fosters a very passive-aggressive community, rather than one that can laugh things off. Everything is taken personally. That's why I've always said I've thought this community was "toxic", in comparison to other MMOs, and actually, in my opinion, it's more toxic. Just toxic in it's own way.

Yeah, this game has what I consider to be its own brand of toxicity to be sure. Do games like WoW has toxic people? Yeah. Does WoW probably have more? Most certainly. But it's largely because of the overall game design and the competitiveness it brings. FF XIV has...something else entirely. I'm honestly not sure how to describe it in full detail.

I argued this before, but I think it's a combination of things. I think a couple of the major issues are the coddling of players, and the heavy-handed approach to moderation. At least for one aspect of the "toxicity" plaguing this community, in my opinion. Every time you chat to someone in this game, you are walking on eggshells. You never know how they will react. Now, OF COURSE people shouldn't be allowed to just chat slurs to one another, but those are objective issues where I can say, "yeah moderation was right to step in", but you could say something benign and get banned for it. Rather, EVEN IF it was something you wouldn't get banned for, people still fear chatting in general. There is a sense of.. hostility when playing with people you don't know in this game.

You get players intentionally griefing, because they know they can get away with it, and or many are just simply looking for reasons to report someone else - as if they have some sort of moral high ground.

This is a pretty good summary of the situation, in my opinion. Some of what you said is what I was having trouble putting into words.

Like for example, I've been doing PoTD a decent amount recently to level my blm. I have been kicked numerous times before because of how I play. I like to go off on my own, clear things and practice my rotation. Every time I go into PoTD/HoH I just have this feeling that I might waste 10-15 minutes in here, because someone will get mad that I wasn't "helping", because I don't run with the group. It's not an enjoyable experience.

I did this, and my tank punished me for it. (referencing earlier story)

And honestly, he doesn't seem that good either. His median damage parses for the first two bosses of Eden's Verse savage are 9% and he hasn't cleared the last two.
So your complaint is basically your health wasnt at a certain percentage.

    Even though you didn't wipe.

The healers job is to keep you alive, not to keep you at a percentage you are personally comfortable with. Since you didn't wipe they did their job.

Ah yes, the "Use Hallowed Ground every pull! What? 7 minute CD timer? I don't care!" line of argument.

So after every pull i should just stand around and do nothing for like 5 to 6 minutes so HG has time to come back up, is that what you are saying?

Because that's what i would have had to do in order to have a HG to use for that incident, due to having already had to use it earlier.

That thing is not spammable (unless you are the Seat Of Sacrifice boss in response to an attempted DPS LB anyway), contrary to what some people seem to think.
