Thok is an easy fight, so i went with a synced group. 100% learn rate, whether the group is all BLU or just you and a bunch of normal classes.

Did they change this? I had last understood it had to be an all blue-mage group to get a 100% learn rate. Would be really handy for friends who aren't interested in playing blue mages to still contribute to their friends learning if they can be on other jobs.

Only those interested in the spell need to be on BLU. Anyone else can be whatever they like. Although, a majority of people on BLU does help the run go faster. Usually people split it 50/50. But yes as long as the content is synced the party makeup can be whatever.

To add to this, you only need an all BLU party in order to get completion in the BLU log or for specific raid/trial achievements.

This was the first google result for Surpanakha, so if you've found your way here like me, know that the learn rate is still abysmally low. However, instead of wasting all your time in PF to form a sync party or farming Hard hoping to get lucky, skip all of that and do this on Extreme. Learned it on the first try, and wasn't particularly hard, but I was level 80 with full i530. Took less than 10 minutes
