I feel that pain! Last week I was griping to a friend about how I will never, ever win the orchestrion rolls from the big raids. So then we pop over into Puppet's Bunker, I amazingly roll a 98 on a song, was feeling pretty chuffed, but it was snatched away with a winning lot of 99 elsewhere. DREAMS DASHED.
The only tale i remember, was when I was leveling my WHM, I think doing some dungeon from the shadowbringers or stormblood MSQ, can't remember right now which one it was.
One of the DPS kept saying throughout the dungeon "you probably wont listen to me, but you shouldn't use Cure 1, you should always use Cure 2, is better than Cure 1 if you read the tooltip, but you do you"
Keep in mind, everything was going fine, no deaths, no near deaths, everything was going fine, so i was healing allright
He kept insisting on that till the end of the dungeon, even when me, and the tank too, explained to him why no WHM should spam Cure 2 all the time.
I wouldn't want to have that guy healing any of my runs...

Yea sastasha is pretty interesting to explore lol. some of the things the npcs talked about it yea...
Another place that was interesting to explore if you got the time is to read the notes in Tam Tara Deepcroft HM. It was a pretty interesting read.
What's interesting is the the first boss, Laviane (sp) the NPC found her way to the Waking Sands later after the first encounter with Tam Tara and I think she became a member of the 7th Dawn and when she dies, she says "I told her I didn't want to go here" which I reckon she is referring to Minfilia as she was sent to Tam Tara to investigate.

Oh no. That person was right, though. Cure 1 is a waste of a GCD. If it absolutely must be a cure, then it should be a cure 2. Consider this: In any scenario where the tank is healthy enough that you only need to use a cure 1, that tank does not need GCD healing at all.The only tale i remember, was when I was leveling my WHM, I think doing some dungeon from the shadowbringers or stormblood MSQ, can't remember right now which one it was.

You're right that no WHM should be spamming cure 2, but that's only because no WHM should be spamming cure period. Healers in this game heal only when needed (preferably using their oGCDs, AKS not cure) and otherwise should be contributing to DPS.

I've been called out soo many times for not using cure at all, "not healing". You can't win!Oh no. That person was right, though. Cure 1 is a waste of a GCD. It's a weird thing, having run more WHM and gotten used to it. As mentioned, Cure itself is in a weird place because...Well, it's not useful unless you are basically OoM, in which case it's all you have, because things hit hard enough that it just doesn't heal enough on it's own.
