And I've posted about it as well, in that I don't like the implication of needing to buy a controller for a game I've already put money into. Particularly when before my tried and true method for avoiding pain was legitimately until a good time after any game's release to find out how accessible it really is and subsequently avoid any that didn't meet fairly benign standards.

Exactly. This is just ridiculous: you cope with all the mechanics in the game, but in order to pass one small part of the trial and advance on the plot (!), you must buy a controller! This is so reasonable (no)! At first people with disabilities were told here "Try harder!", and now they are counting other people's finances. For what? In my opinion, this is the same answer "Do something with your problems and don't bother us have a fun!", but in other words.

You buy in soles to make shoes fit more comfortably despite spending money on the shoe. The list goes on but the point is the same.

You may don`t care about the risk of getting a ban, but not others. To measure another man's foot by one's own is stupid. And yes, you have no right to count other people's finances. Playing video games is very much a basic thing for life if you do it all the time. And I'm offering suggestions here. It's a single solution for the myriad of problems people are displaying as the end of their entire world.

This entire thread has been dedicated to a single trial. One instance of mash or fail. Tell me how suggesting buying a controller over all the misery that this trial has brought up is disrespectful, will get you banned when *checks notes* the tactical controller exists and not worth some investment because of all the investment put in this thread.

First of all, I am not used to playing with a controller. I have only used a controller a few times in my life. I always play on pc with my mouse and keyboard. Just using a controller for one button mash is excessive when I wouldn't use it anywhere else in the game. Plus switching between controller and keyboard while you're in the middle of a fight? I would have to learn to play with a controller when I am a PC player. I prefer continuing to play with my mouse and keyboard, thank you. As I've said before, playing with a controller feels incredibly awkward to me.

And just because there are people who have disabilities who were able to pass that QTE doesn't mean that's the same for everyone with disabilities. Each person's disability affects them differently. Normal typing on a keyboard doesn't bother me at all. I'm a translator, I do it for a living. Normal typing doesn't require me to mash a button for 13 seconds straight.

These wipes are not justified. This is storymode content. There is such small room for error on both the QTE and the LB3. That simply belongs in a savage or extreme mode, not normal content that everyone should be able to get through.

I would really hate to stop playing a game that I love because of one single QTE, when I've been able to pass previous QTEs.

It's a fact you don't need to keep the meter at 100% This is an ancient technique but also an option, have a friend or someone do it for you. Not play the fight, but 8 seconds of contact with another human to pass the phase and the following cutscene gives enough time to pass the keyboard over. Provided you live with anyone. There's accessibility, and then there's "let's get rid of a concept for 50/5000 people."

The bus has to keep moving, a new one will come later. That's just the way public service works.

And when you respond indirectly it makes it hard to notice your posts. I'm not reading every single post, therefore I've very likely skipped over you several times.

FFXIV is a game with a community. The point of a community is to help people who can't keep up, who are in some way disabled. Because that's what a community is all about. I'm going to guess you've never tanked, because this was a mechanic in Susano. How'd you pass that one? Or did you jump potion and therefore, it was skipped. Also that's not the point of communities. That's your idealism talking. Some, but far from all.

Those adjustments? They're still fitting a majority mold. I could be blind-deaf and unable to read braille. The solution? Learn braille. Not have someone cater further to me while claiming it's for the benefit to everyone else.

The real solution here is to not have it fail everyone. Not further break off a piece of the game for you.

Excuse me? I have been playing since ARR was released. No, I don't tank. It's nervewracking for me. But I heal and I dps. I do have a tank at 80, but I mostly leveled it without having to do any trials for exaxtly that reason. And no, I know how to play my classes, thank you very much. You are being incredibly rude here.

And excuse me, but in real social communities the community does help those who are disabled. My employer has adjusted things for me. Just because you apparently live in a sucky community doesn't mean the rest of the world does. Accessibility is a real actual thing. Square Enix cares about it. They have hired an entire team for it this year.

I would be more than happy if me failing the QTE wouldn't wipe the group. You people who keep defending this QTE are so incredibly heartless and rude, you have no sympathy no empathy. I hope you never have to deal with what I'm going through.
