Crafting is fo people that play the marketboard. the none gill route is too long.

As the title states whenever they add new goals for crafters,its people that play the marketboard who can just buy and stockpile the mats and materia and they are done. If you gonna farm all the mats and materia yourself you will be looking at many hours of farming and crafting wich also costs gill unless you gonna farm crystals and clusters too.

Not everybody likes playing the marketboard, but would still like to progress at a decent pace.

Gear pogression is linked to hard to making Gill imho.

What gear progression are you referring to, combat job or crafting/gathering classes?

Combat job gear progress is not linked hard to crafting and gathering. It's linked to combat content and it's intended to take time so players have something to do. The crafted gear, which is not the best gear, is provided as an option for those not interested in doing the combat content or who are impatient.

Scrip gear works fine for gathering and crafting, though having pentamelded crafted gear does make things easier especially if your goal is HQ Master recipe items. Again, farming is intended to take time to give players things to do.

You don't need to play the marketboard to progress. Gil is the shortcut if you're too impatient or too lazy to do things yourself. It doesn't have much other use.

Are you referring to leveling? Try leve quests. They give absolutely insane amounts of xp now.
