In these housing threads, someone who owns an entire ward often shows up. It's possible to own multiple houses within the rules by exploiting the FC system.Guys u are aware that we can only have one personal house and one fc house arnt you?, So I wouldn't fear the slum Lord situation anymore, you've got worse fears now which is actually getting a house with this stupid random timer situation we got now.
Only other people that I can think of that got around this was the people who owned all those lots before they made the change to one personal and one fc house per account, I could be mistaken here but didn't they get grand fathered in thus keeping there houses, if someone knows the answer on this one please let me know cause I heard about this but don't remember what happened in the fallout.
Other then that all I can think of is the guy or girl who pays for multiple service accounts and like it or not he or she has legitimate claim to his or her property, not something I'd do but if there willing to go that far then ya I guess.
I actually really like this idea. But there would have to be a lot of rules within the system to ensure fairness, and to ensure it isn't abused. Rental laws essentially lol.
While this wouldn't solve the issue of many properties being owned by few people (in fact, it might incentivize players to purchase properties for the sake of renting them), it would allow people that otherwise might not be able to utilize housing to do so just the same as homeowners already can but on a more limited scale. And I think that's a really cool concept. With proper systems in place (like reasonable rent ranges/lease period options and "rental laws"), it could be a really viable, safe option for time-limited housing. But who knows. Maybe I'm crazy. if they did add this, I'd love to see a "rent to own" option, along with direct housing purchases lol. But I doubt that'll happen. But it'd sure be cool!
But I do want to say that I don't think this should be an alternative to adding new wards/locations. Personally I think they should change how apartments function to be truly instanced so everyone can have (at the very least) a small home. But this, along with those changes, could make things really interesting and cool in a way that they aren't currently.
Certainly not necessary, but a really cool thought!
Wow I woke up to a lot of comments regarding my comment about houses being a status symbol. Well I'm clearly not wrong. Having one of the many limited spaces on a populated server like Cactaur is indeed a difficult feat and requires much dedication.

And nobody thinks better of you for having one.
Answer 1: no, it would just make the housing situation worse.
Answer 2: imagine thinking you're cool just because you own a house in game.
