I've seen thousands of cries for instanced housing, which no longer make homes status symbols. I've seen no on the forums demanding to own a house for the sake of status.

I mean you have, it's just all those people that go into the request threads insisting that the current system is working fine.
I'm not saying their reasoning is in any way valid, but those demands do exist.
