It would be sad to see it vanish, making it akin to Doman Enclave would be neat. It's very pretty . . . Again I'm impressed with the whole of ShB.
Personally hope Garlemald area we saw gets touched up some more, for their extreme might and wealth it seemed way too bleak to the point of being a caricature of 'evil empire'. In a real life comparison our empires often had pretty grand and "we stole all your stuff, have loads of money, look at this pure gold building we built with it 'lol'" vibes to them instead. Or perhaps we just saw the military side of it, and there is a different civilian section lol.
For one of the most mighty organizations, I didn't feel it 'felt' right. Although if we're not meant to ever go there and meant to just burn it all to the ground then I guess whatever, but I feel that's not very suitable to the story of FFXIV it has so far which tends to be pretty nuanced (minus maybe one or two specific actors). So I don't feel like evil galactic empire with no soul and arts is the right imagery (depression r us), but if we think like real empires and not caricatures then they tend to have some pretty incredible works. We've clearly a huge bone to pick but to raze a city seems uncharacteristic, at least purposefully, could see one of the other wild actors dropping a meteor on it or something for a super primal summoning or something (in effect razing it, but not via our choice). In such a situation that we're going to free it from it's troubles then I'd like the town to not look like a prison. Due to the weather of course it'll still have some bleak elements but with all their tech I'm surprised there wasn't more technological colors and grandeur, with all the darkness and snow at least colors seems to be a frequent choice for places that deal with that. Anyway, hoping for some more changes to the place then our few clips so far. Even if it doesn't go bright and tries to stay dark, hopefully not giving people vibes like metal junk buildings
