Bard is to Kefka as Dragoon is to Kain Highwind. Really wish they were a tad bit more... unique for these new AF armors, than bumming the concepts off of already existing ones.

The concept from the outset is to provide FF fans with familiarity. The whole reason jobs are being introduced in the first place is to add the FF feel.
I may not necessarily say the inspiration was directly Kefka per se but it is without a doubt Yoshitaka Amano. The Dragoon concept art has a direct reference to the ankles being "in the vain of Amano". I wouldn't hold it out of the realm of possibility that Amano's influence is infused into the rest of the job specific equipment.
...On that tone, then MNK Artifact Armor reminds me of Gilgamesh, because we can fight like men, fight like women, or fight like men dressed as women!
ZING!
Gungnir, gugnir, gungir, Odin's weapon.

That's a bit of a stretch. PUP relic armor from FFXI though, THAT was a kefka callback.

There's a part in VI when Kefka was referred to as the court mage while the emperor was alive. Unsure if it was a soldier or General Leo which referred to him as that, but yeah.
