"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore

I fully expect Ryne to join us on the Source. It seems really weird to have such an important character get sidelined like that.
Why does it seem weird? Its basically what happend to Estinien after Heavensward and Lyse and Hien after Stormblood - they're all "feature characters" of their expansion, but after their story is told, they take their place at the sideline, appearing only sporadically because they're busy with their own problems in their own countries. I dont see Ryne being any different - she is not Minfilia, she is not part of the Scions and as she said herself: She needs to help her own people rebuild now.
I wouldnt be surprised if we visited Norvrandt once in a while again because she calls for our help with something, but there is no reason to bring her to the Source.
I'm not sure Estinien has been side lined by any means. Even at this point in the story he hasn't been seen since 5.1 and left because he had business to attend to.
Obviously he's up to something that I'm sure will come to light in the future.

The only reason she isn't with us now is because she is a key part of the Eden Raid. Once that is finished she will be joining us in the Source, I know it.
Besides, Yshtola already said she is going to look into finding a way to travel from the Source to the First just to see people again. Now consider the Crystal Tower now has been... recharged... Thanks old buddy.

Just my opinion. Won't lose sleep if you don't like it.

If they do pull it off, I'll be interested to see what G'raha would make of the prospect of going back... It would be really strange for him (in his own experience) to be back there but in a different body.

Sure would be nice for him and Lyna to have a nice long chat now that the First doesn't have any immediate threats, no?

I mean, Ryne is the Oracle of Light and directly tied to Hydaelyn, which kind of puts her import level a touch higher than those characters to me (especially as Estinien is still around and active, even if he didn't go with the group, he feels Krille level almost). We will see, but personally I expect it to happen. Why does it seem weird? Well, yeah, of course. They'd both want to see each other again, but all the same, it would have to be strange for both of them. Probably more so for Lyna - it's one thing to know that your adoptive grandfather is still alive, somewhere beyond your reach, and quite another to see him come back to you as a young man! And G'raha would be conscious of that.
(Not, of course, that he looked that much different as the Exarch, but he seemed old and you could convince yourself he looked ageless rather than young. G'raha, not so much.)
It would seem okay in the end, probably, but it would be enough to make him hesitate over whether they should meet again or just let Lyna (and all the people of the Crystarium) remember him as he was.

I mentioned this in another thread, but I think it's entirely possible that once the Eden Raid is finished, BFFs Ryne and Gaia will truck on over to the Thirteenth Shard with Eden to start work on repairing the damage there, essentially writing both of them out of the story (Minfillia-style) unless the writers decide to revisit them later.
It's only one possible outcome, but I see this as being totally in-character for something she'd like to do. Also, the Thirteenth is WAY more accessable than the Source is, given that Voidsent are constantly sneaking in and out, and she has the Emissary of Darkness at her side to help, as well.
