No longer possible to augment base Ironworks Gear?

I've been running my fiancé through the game since she joined last month and she is now unable to upgrade half her gear without forking out full price for new pieces. I'm assuming this was an oversight since they gave an easy path for lvl 60 & 70 gear.

Hope there's a hotfix or something soon.

It is a bit of a sucky situation, but luckily for your fiancé there is no real need for her to upgrade the level 50 gear. The non-augmented Ironworks gear is good enough for all the level 50 content, and as you level up you can get better gear in other ways.

I literally just joined these forums to complain about this. It's no longer possible to augment Ironworks gear and frankly I think that's unacceptable. They need to add a similar upgrade as with everything else.

I know Ironworks gear is only useful through Heavensward-ish but keep in mind that the augmented gear is easily dyeable and the base gear is not. So even if it isn't useful to you stats-wise anymore you now have to spend all those tomestones to basically start over just because you want the shirt you already own to be... idk, yellow.

But you can still get Augmented Ironworks gear. In fact it's easier than ever.
You make it sound like you're upset that Agmented Ironworks was taken out of the game which simply isn't the case.

Is weird that they didn't give us the option.
There is some people like us who don't play always and keep alternative gear for some other jobs waiting down the list.

If we got the base gear, there is no point to buy the whole item again.
Ok, good for the people who carries 2000/2000 poetics always, but is not fair that on Shire or Scaevan there is the chance, and not for Ironworks.
