Can hit any button on a controller too, but even then the bar would dip below half after spamming.
on controller I tend to spam the X and O buttons with my index and middle fingers (which I usually found to be fastest in other trials for me) and even then I nearly lose it in this one. It's gotten old and annoying at this point, I agree.
I thought the reason why it is "One person fails, therefore wipe" for this particular active time event is because all the players need to be standing literally on the succeeding scene... it doesn't make sense to be knocked out for that scene...
"Is adventuring not supposed to be glorious? I thought it was supposed to be glorious." - Vath Deftarm, Dravanian Hinterlands, An Acquired Taste
"That's a fine accomplishment lad. Young and lusty as you are, no doubt you'll achieve much and more in the years to come. I look forward to hearin' all your deeds." - Jonathas, Master of the Rolls, Old Gridania
That makes sence to a degree. But then, if you want everyone to succeed, why make such a disaster out of QTE.
Also, E8 cutscene don't have that problem. Noted we're not tecnically "standing" in there, being frozen in ice and such, but still.

J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Yes, they could have made it easier to achieve if they will implement a "One person fails, therefore wipe" mechanic. I'm just saying why I think it is there.

I see your point and understand it, I do. No arguing here. Just adding some thoughts about how that's a somewhat silly decision on SE side.

Well they already rezz people just for that mechanic so they could have done the same there too. Just make it so that maybe 6 out of 8 players needs to do it correctly and you win, thus nobody dies there. Or rezz them if they do die but with a bit of a debuff as a punishment. (Or maybe a debuff for the whole party instead of a wipe..)
Yeah and pushing that button is such a huge and immersive challenge that seemingly that single thing from that fight being "nerfed" is utterly dramatic and world changing to some that they need to call this a joke or people who fail lazy and other names..
I could agree if people complained about the other mechanics of the fight..but its about the one thing that was probably never that fun and now over the top and utterly punishing...for a normal MSQ trial..

I've never had it drop below 3/4 using controller...I just run my thumbs along the square, triangle, circle and x buttons, as well as the D-pad. Can also use the triggers to add to it.
