Prior to 5.3, Astro was 350 rDPS ahead of White Mage and a staggering 600 over Scholar. Bringing them down was necessary. Ultimately, it'll be a rather small nerf, especially when you consider your meld priority will change now.

i think making sleeve draw give only 1 card was a decent change for controller users, but they should've reduced the cooldown from 180 seconds to 60. recovering seals after death is pretty much impossible as it is

It fixes controller issue of causing cramp- absolute positive
nerf to card numbers going out- good and bad. ultimately balance is not as important as fun. Is this fun? 3 min cds are not fun
Optimisation isn't the be all end all. The devs refuse to focus on fun and instead their silly idea of balance everything perfectly to numbers
My issue is the game not recognising I'm in combat quick enough after my first gcd so it doesn't give me my first seal and cucks my divination for the whole fight
And lastly if I die it's actually horrible. I got killed by a party member in the new raid for example, lost my three seals and then I couldn't get divination off for 60-90 seconds since I needed to draw cards. No 3 cards from sleeve draw means if I die im more or less cucked the rest of the fight. It's stupid. Especially if I'm dead from someone else's mistake.
I liked ast's fast pace esp the opener. I don't like having less cards to play and help my allies with. Idk why they didn't add some mp on draw/play and leave it at that. My main gripe with astro prior to this patch was always clutching at straws for mana if I was dpsing hard.

WHM? Goodbye lilies and any progress towards blood lily. 30s after rez finishes till you'll get even one back, 90s for all three.
SCH? Bye Aetherflow and fairy gauge. Less 'free' tank healing and in general, have fun using GCD heals only until you get stacks back. (But, as a small consolation, at least Aetherflow's CD keeps ticking while on the ground).
In all cases, it's infuriating to lose all your resources when someone else kills you.
I'm sad that Lightspeed no longer cuts the mana cost down on Raise. I've used it a few times this patch to raise only to realize I did not have enough mp to raise.
You must be raising quite often then. I've done a few Ex today and I've noticed how I never drop below 70% MP with AST. 8% MP recovery every 30s + Lucid dreaming + another 8% every 3 minutes is enough to make MP issues virtually non existant. AST healing spells are very mana efficient now so unless you are tying Raises back to back, you won't ever run out of MP.
I love the changes to ast (mp managment being my fav) it feels so good that even if i die which I do not as much but sometimes I slip if am learning new(new nier atm) proper timing of using lucid/draw makes me get mana back like crazy, ofc m y only complaint will be sleeve draw no doubt. the horrible cd , sure it grants the missing seal you need but it and divination cd is just terrible, at this point they probably should get rid of the card system, they already killed it uses(always will miss sb ast) lesser sleeve draw/divination buff is stupid, i usually get my 3 seals in a trash pull pop divination, and roll 3 cards and pop the proper onces base on my party for that free 14% instant buff, nice if a ninja on ur team and trick attacks, giving u ample time to cleave down a boss fast. I play on ps4 and tbh i never had issue with the rng and the rolling and mind you i have my card effects on my 2nd hot bar and have to flip between it and my first since that is where my heals and dps spells sit, how I do it friends and family ask well... its just something I put alot of practice in and I love doing it. It is challenging and so fun switching between both hot bars trying to regen/shield while also flipping cards+dsping yet it pays off to force me to still and respect this job until this now useless sleeve draw just make it feel too lazy. Ah well still gonna keep playing ast other than the sleeve draw and currently still bad card mess I accept this for what it is.

Also, what the heck is this comparison you're making? If you die,yeah, you lose Lilies, but we're talking about WHM dps - about the damage of one single player. AST is dealing with the WHOLE, the EIGHT players with a 120 seconds cooldown with a RNG fishing for the seals. Finally, you bring about SCH and aetherflow/fairy gauge and ''the healing problems'' that death would bring. Really? Do I have to remeber how easy and pitiful is the healing in this game? There's even a thread which discusses this question. Anyway, I suggest you to be less induvidualistic and look at the whole. as if the constant negativity on this forum wasn't already bringing down the morale as a whole to begin with. And yes. death does punish whm and sch, death is SUPPOSED TO BE A PUNISHMENT this is not a AST unique or even a healer unique problem! Take rdm for example, it looses its white/black mana whenever it dies, or how mnk has to rebuild greased lightning.
