If you did it just once, then it probably wouldn't be an issue since it could just be dismissed as an accident.
Any more then that and it likely could be reported under "disrupting gameplay".
If you are talking about the one with a reddit link, that's most likely because they were names clearly shown on the screenshots, which goes against the rules of the forum.
The sad thing is this was an issue in v1 as well. There were always hordes of npcs standing like zombies near aetheryte crystals or bots farming sheep in Coerthas. Getting fleece used to be impossible. So, it's been a thing for 10 full years now and I don't expect anything to change.
The fun thing to do tho, and I haven't done this in awhile so you may not be able to anymore if they found a work around, but find where they are farming quest mobs under the map and mass murdering them as they spawn, before they can get their kills and advance through the quests. You can see how many are building up if you can see the screen of another player, and have them go into idle camera mode, which will eventually target them under the map if they are near.
It's the little things in life...
I just hope that maybe, they gave the mobs some HW treatment where they would be invincible if they cant find a path to their target, would sure help against bots in walls etc... or add death zones like... EVERYWHERE a player cant go. If you can torment us with that one every fight then you can annoy bots as well...
Just now my wife is leveling a whm twink on Lich... several times she barely could do her msq/jobquests as bots would oneshot all the mobs. Normally id call an GM to ban them and wait but we all know they wont do anything >_>
I am a touch curious to see if the RMT bots bother pushing into the HW content partly because of the enemy AI auto-resetting if it can't find a valid path to the target...though they could combat that by just staying out in the open since the enemies that spawn for MSQ-required quests aren't terribly threatening.I just hope that maybe, they gave the mobs some HW treatment where they would be invincible if they cant find a path to their target, would sure help against bots in walls etc... or add death zones like... As a new player that has come from another large MMO, the game is quite fun and there are a lot of things to do in the game, like spending 15 minutes reporting 45 bots teleporting to the same MSQ as you are doing. I'm surprised that a game thats 9 years old doesn't have any detection for players teleporting around the map and out of bounds? Why doesn't the map have an auto kill pane below the map? I see these people teleporting below me.
As a new player who has played for a month, and is witness to all these bots teleporting around, it makes you think that the Developers don't take the boting issue seriously and that you're only seeing a small sample of a much larger problem.
The playercount of this game is increasing as other MMO's are going stale, I would hope to see more effort going into bot detection or even basic system to detect teleporting?
Which are a mere fraction of the total .. it's a token gesture, nothing more.
And it's going to get only worse now SE are giving RMT free access to Heavensward zones as well .. we'll have to wait to reach Stormblood to avoid seeing RMT vermin from now on.
