I just pray to Yoshida they go with the original sketch, that's what many were expecting out of male Viera in the original Viera thread.

So because I'd enjoy XIV having a male that more feminine or androgynous in face(which is already VERY doable on most races) with a smaller body type automatically make them underaged and me a pedophile? Bold statements. I shan't deny there are those with ill intentions that motivate such.
My motivation for it is because it's a body type we don't really have. We have averege(Midlander), athletic(Miqo'te), above averege(Highlander), lanky(Elezen), Large(Au'ra), Hulk(Hrothgar and Roegadyne), and lastly a chibi dwarf(Lalafells). Last I checked we don't have a below average which is what I'd like. We just have no point of reference for a below average build in XIV. The closest thing to it is alphinaud who is both underaged and I'm pretty sure he just uses the same model Alisae does which is an altered female elezen.
I suggest you choose your boldness with more care. There are individuals out there who won't take to it as kindly as I do.
You didn't take kindly to it at all, you just repeated yourself again and then called me "bold" as if it was a bad thing to call out predatory behavior where it's visible.
I don't care who I offend with this statement - it is a good thing that XIV has drawn the line in the sand at overly young looking characters.
I am not saying you are a sexual predator. I don't know you. I am saying that these people exist and that I don't want to incentivize them to come to this game or give them content to enjoy. They are bad people and I hope they stay far away from us all.
If the consequence of that is that we don't have characters that look like realistic children (whether that was the initial goal or not in their design) then that's absolutely fine. Play as an adult. If you don't enjoy the male races we have then pop your chest slider down to zero, cut your hair short and wear a loose fitting top.
Don't presume to lecture or threaten me. I'm entirely okay with every last person who wants this being very angry. You're randoms on the internet, I could not possibly care less. Take as "kindly" to this as you like, it changes nothing.

I've always held to the same opinion!
Especially a manlet viera, when we already have miqo'te. Male miqo'te are apparently not small, or "androgynous" enough however. Even though we have a height slider. Apparently, some people want male viera to be like 4'10, and look like a child, but they won't admit they just want to play a child. I have seen alphinaud referenced many times (not referring to previous poster) as a basis for their "quota"
Oh, sorry someone is gonna get technical, "Alphinaud is a teen!". "Alphinaud is 16", "America is a backwards country, 16 is the legal age here!"Wait, I just remembered that one line I've read on these forums... what was it like.. "but 14 is the legal age in Japan!" LOL!

I'm disgusted by the fact your only argument is making us bad for wanting androgynous male characters. Yes, there are people who will obviously use them for erp purposes - just like they use Lalafells (and they are a lot more childlike), female AuRas to play as very young boys or Miqo'tes or Hyurs with teenager faces. They will. You could do everything and you won't help it. And even if we consider it disgusting, every race in the game respresents adult characters, not children. It would be the same with male Vieras who are shorter and a bit more delicate than females (and I have a feeling that I have to repeat myself again - being androgynous adult male ISN't being a big child who didn't hit puberty properly). And as I said, nobody is asking for children (in the past people wanted more Feol-like Viera characters, but since we got super fanservice females I haven't seen anyone asking for that young-looking males for them). We just want to have more options that are missing in the game: male slender body and males shorter than females (but the first thing is definitely more important. The second one would just be interesting). It was explained many times by many people and if you're still going with 'OF COURSE I don't think you are a predator who is after children, but you want to play an androgynous male character with a delicate face, SO YOU KNOW...', I'm out of this discussion.

The funny thing about this whole thing is that there are probably more posts in this thread than there are Hrothgar players.
You can't play the male equivelant of that either tho.
I mean generally speaking I am in favor of more options all-around and for everyone to be able to create the character they want to play.
But at the same time it's a bit unrealistic in a game like this, I'll remind you that we don't even have helmets for Viera and very lacking options in general.
SWTOR actually had overweight characters tho I just now remembered it because you mentioned it, but the end result is that most people play them for comedic purposes.
I played SWTOR from Beta and then a couple of years, and pretty much every single overweight character I ran into was very obviously meant as a joke.
Not saying that means they shouldn't exist, just that you do open it up for toxic assholes to troll and be offensive about it.
I actually find a lot of the male characters in FFXIV to be quite androgynous too, they're not very typical when it comes to video games.
The female characters are a lot more feminine altho I mean the LGBT community as you mentioned I also think is quite heavily dominated by femininity.
I don't think that there are any hard numbers on this, but based on the research there is of this that I've seen at least Trans women far outweigh Trans men and most things outwards at least in the LGBT community is very feminine and in a lot of communities masculinity is even demonized.
To the point that Trans men who do want to fit into more of a typical masculine identity feel ostracized.
When you look at games and art made by LGBT creators it tends to FAR more often be very colorful and hyper-feminine.
I also object to the notion that you can't play a '' non-sexualized character '', a woman having a conventionally attractive face and wearing makeup doesn't make her sexualized. You have all of the power to dress up your character however you please.
You could even cover them up from head to toe and hide their entire face lol.
Lol so much this.
I see this all the time and it annoys me a lot.
I did bodybuilding and moved over to power lifting for around 20 years and socialized with other people who did too, I see so many people who have probably never done weight-lifting at any serious level act like armchair experts about this all the time and it's annoying.
Like I don't have an issue at all with Abby in TLOU2, it's not that serious and yes I know the explanation that they gave in-game ( still dumb, but whaver don't care ).
But I saw people completely unironically argue that it made sense to be buff because she was fighting zombies all day every day and she ate burritos.
That's.................. Not how it works.
And it also begs the question why everyone else ain't buff too lol.
If it was really that easy then the overwhelming majority of people setting out to get big and muscular wouldn't fail so hard and quit.
And you don't just run around and fight monsters and build muscles rofl.

Yes he stated that...yet being androgynous or more feminine (you dont have to be completely that way too.) is not being a child..
And yes for your aesthetic (and that is fine) but others might like something different. Maybe for them a handsome man is more on the androgynous side (I for example find Omega male very attractive minus the hair). That does not mean that they want children.
And young is not being a child..you still look young even if you are 20. James Franco seemingly counts as a more feminine man according to google. He looks like a (sexy) man and 100% not like a teenager or child.
Seemingly female Au Ra are not a problem? Honestly those often look like teeangers to me and I am playing one.
