    Try playing in the UK.

    I have a 100MB connection, and still when ifrit's blooms on the floor appear, if I don't get out of them within 2 seconds of them appearing, even if I am fully outside of the graphic of the circle for 4-5 seconds before it explodes, I get hit.

    The thread has merit, the server is showing strange lag in places that I'm not used to. I think it has to do with the market wards changes. I swear the market wards put the BIGGEST strain on the server structure out of everything in game that we have. The whole buying form search interface is a piece of garbage coding job. It ports you to the retainer buys the item then ports you back WTF really SE?

    In the last 3 days I have been experiencing the worst lag inside the wards when moving items around since launch day. Its as bad as it was over a year and 4 months ago. I like the market ward improvements with HQ and materia but you can't improve features at the cost of basic functionality. If the server is not ready for this patchy add-on coding going on then stop adding features.

    I don't even use the by option on the wards because I am afraid I will get disconnected. It is a fast solution that makes no sense. I am not a programmer, so I don't understand what is required for this, but there has to be a faster way to buy things.

    It's like sometimes SE moves one step forward and 3 steps behind.

    the wards are on another server or at least in another cluster, hence why the wards can crash and the worlds don't follow suite

    Solution is there but not always easy to work with. Battle log that is.
    that's the same in US east coast. as soon as they pop yo0u have less then a second. the only people that cant do it are people getting stuck in animations for doing things at the wrong time. you have to expect the cracks to come. If you know the fight everything he does is predictable.

    in first phase if he gives cracks to other side you can cast, hell only do one side at a time.
    in second phase if your not sure if its safe, wait for him to do cracks or plumes,



    if its plumes your safe til next move, usually
    if its cracks run, come back and cast.

    if you stuck in an animation, even the last second of it and cracks happen, your getting hit.

    during plumes dont move, sometime i move and even though i stay in safe area i get hit somehow, so dont move.

    another tip for hellfire is its 60 seconds after nails go up, use one of your skills as a timer to count it down.

    Yeah I have done it, it is tricky and takes practice so generally I dont even try to mess with it. Either way it is still a lag based issue.

    I think folks are dismissing the fact that the OP stated they always have lag but over come it and the issue they are speaking of was just last night. So I wouldn't pass it onto inexperience so quickly.

    and LoL at the guy claiming the fight was designed to include a delay. SE didn't even know what the delay everyone was referring to was until many posts where made about it, and that's when they created a thread asking for everyone's ISP info that experienced it to try and come up with a fix.

    I'll be one of the first to call someone out on skill but we all know that isn't always the case

    Not sure why people think this is different for NA everyone has to get out of it that quickly to avoid the eruption, best way is to watch his swipes after 2 he does an ability get ready for it to be an eruption, the exception is after he charges when he lands he will do 1 swipe and then an ability. If you wait to see cracks on you to get out of dodge you will more then likely get hit by it.

    Lag exists in there. It doesn't matter how skilled you are or what you know about the fight. I have friends who sometimes have lag and sometimes do not. In Moogle also. The difference in their gameplay is noticable. I am not talking about one night I went with them and they got hit. I am saying over 20+ occasions. When they don't have issues, they run the fight as good as anyone else.

    It also can cause random disconnects. I get them sometimes upon entry. It is not my system, my connection, etc. I enter, the game crashes randomly. At both BCNM locations this has happened. I have seen it happen to others who have been playing fine the entire day up until this point of entry like me.

    I also can leave the market wards and crash upon exit.

    I do not know why there is this big discussion about the issue of lag existing or not. It does exist. You can not just work around it when it is bad. I have been on vent where a person did not see the cracks yet, while on my screen they were exploding under him. Again, fine outside of the fight. Inside is an issue.

    And for total disclosure, when I die to cracks, its my own damn fault. Meant I was trying to do too much^^ I do not have lag, just disconnect on entry sometimes. If someone in your party is having connection issues, be kind to them, raise them, carry on. Blow Ifrit a kiss, then kill him.

    well there's 2 dif lag issues the first being the common lag that is 1-2 seconds. it will not make ifrit unplayable and is easily dealt with.

    the second is more isolated temporary lag issues where a play can can for higher amounts of time. so that guy might die but the other 7 should be fine without him most likely.

    more often then not when people say lag is killing them its them clearing the eruption but not getting off it in time cause they were stuck in a animation too long.

    For the op to say it is unplayable i would disagree with that.(unless it was really jsut an isolated incident of one night)

    exactly and he did state it was just last night which is why ill give him the benefit of the doubt, he stated they kill him on a regular basis with the normal lag we all experience.
