Had a brilliant double sprout Aurum Vale run while doing leveling roulette on my SAM.
Or rather, the start of a run because we never made it past the first boss.
Tank and Healer were new and both just hit level range for AV but gear was fine.
The first room was a mess, as expected. The tank just ran straight in and positioned himself so poorly that we always pulled another group. He wiggled around a lot, often stepping into the goldbile and giving our healer a huge jumpscare. The healer struggled really hard because they tried to Cure I spam the incoming damage and I ended up Bloodbath-tanking.
So after the wipe I quickly wrote that using Cure II and keeping Regen up makes healing a lot easier because Freecure is a huge trap and they don't struggle with MP. They were really nice, thanked me and said that they're still new to this and appreciate any help.
The next pulls went better but the tank was still constantly wiggling around without needing to, repositioning mobs for no reason and pulling additional packs while at it.
So, first boss.
With two new players I told them before we started to eat a fruit at 2 stacks, 3 at the latest and avoid the golden puddles.
We died. I think we managed to get him down to 20% before we died.
I reminded the WhM to use Regen on the tank and use Medica for aoe heal when we get our debuffs instead of trying to ST heal everyone with Cure I. "alright I'll do my best"
They were so cute.
I then reminded the tank to use mitigation in boss fights aswell, not stand in goldbile puddles, eat a fruit in time and not stack with other players because the boss cleaves and one hit almost one-shot our healer. They kept running around the whole boss room for no reason and kept trying to stack with our healer or me.
It went back and forth for a bit until the tank finally just said "aight".
The 2nd pull went just as bad as the first if not worse. The tank ran around even more and whenever I moved behind the boss he turned him around again to stack with me. Everytime. I was nyooming around the boss trying to get away from that tank on a killing spree but he kept stacking with me and ultimately killed me even with all my self-heal and mitigation used.
The poor healer tried their best to keep me alive and did well but couldn't keep up forever.
So we wiped again. The tank tried to votekick the healer which got rejected.
At this point I was getting a bit irritable. I told the tank again to keep the boss faced away from other players and not constantly run around with it. Their response was that the healer is so bad they had to run because no heals were coming in. I asked the tank if they read what I was writing about the boss cleaving other players if they stacks with them. "yes". I asked why they kept stacking with me, making me take tons of additional damage. No response.
I reminded them again to keep the boss still and not run around or turn him towards other players. I set a mark near a fruit and told them they could stay there unless they need to move out for an aoe.
The healer wrote "ill not give up, i got this!". That's the spirit, little sprout healer.
We tried two more times and after the 4th wipe, the tank got really nasty. They started to insult the healer, told them to gtfo because they're so bad, they suck, that they're a stupid monkey etc.
The healer was doing fine. Not stellar performance but definitely enough to get us all safely through the dungeon.
The only one behaving like a complete idiot was the tank. If not for the additional damage from 4-5 debuff stacks and dps/ healer constantly getting cleaved from the boss attack or hp drop from running through goldbile, we would've been fine.
We votekicked the tank and I reported them for harassment. The BRD left right away after that and the healer stayed for a bit longer. They felt so dejected after this experience, I felt really bad for them. I assured them that they were doing fine and that they can't correct every mistake others make, no matter how hard they try. They asked for some additional advice and we finally went our seperate ways after around 40min in a dungeon while not even making it past the 1st boss.
Should've probably kicked the tank sooner and spared them their temper tantrum but I was hoping the tank would do better after some pointers but if anything, they did worse with each pull. I can't help but think this was on purpose.
I hope the healer has better luck next time with their party. Getting something like this in Aurum Vale of all dungeons must've been a nightmare.
