It's an expansion feature, if course it will make the game substantially better.
Iv seen your posts and know how much you like to argue and beat your point at people, so here i go. I was stateing, maybe not clearly, that with Hrothgar being themed around Ronso, we at least have a clear cannon look of what female hroth would look like. With male viera, there is no cannon look to them. We know they will be humanoid, and we know they will have rabbit ears, but thats it. The concept art you showed is just that, concept and even looking at it you can see some clear things that just wont be in the game, and as i said, just look at au ra, that whole race looks nothing like the concept art. There is no official look for male viera and in game cannon makes them sound almost mythical. The player never sees them and in game npcs talk about them as one would see a unicorn. A voice from the trees, the corner of someones vision, things like that.
With that said, the thread supporting male viera cant even decide. Some what short feminent males, others want tall rugged males, some just want them to be on par with female viera... But just male. Why, because there is no cannon look, and the concept art is just that, concept.
But, if you wish to be extremely basic. Yes, by the work you showed, we know that male viera, if they ever happen will be humanoid and have rabbit ears, which the art you provided shows.
Real talk, if the adding or not adding of a race is that detrimental to you that it would cause you to quit, then the game didnt really hold much value to you from the start.
I played xi, but hated that i could be a male mithra. I didnt quit, just played mithra. Sure i complained in forums back then but eh. With xiv, i hated ya couldnt be male miqote. Did i quit? Nah, i rolled a female and played and was pleasantly surprised when male miqote showed up. I want lupin more than anything, but i like xiv so that wont turn me away, but ill always hope.
Let me tell you a story about how I skipped FFXI partly because of the locked races. These are things that have a researchable and concrete data points when asessed at a level that's beyond our capability here. This is what marketing departments analyze. The crush data from many time periods, both with numbers and anecdotal in random order and random sources. As Yoshida alluded to, genderlocked races hurt mmos and are an old staple of eastern mmos, basically criticizing it. So even he understood the damage of genderlocking races; obviously he has information which brought him to say such things.Real talk, if the adding or not adding of a race is that detrimental to you that it would cause you to quit, then the game didnt really hold much value to you from the start.

So yes, stating all that to say that to say that aesthetics are what games like these are all about. I skipped Tree of Savior mainly because of didn't allow me to create the kind of aesthetic I was looking for.
1. I argued this point, that Hrothgar was based on Ronso but then a bunch of people told me that "no, Hrothgar is just a cat race, not all the faces have a horn like Ronso, a staple of what the Ronso race is like." So you bringing up female Ronso isn't the cover you think it is.Iv seen your posts and know how much you like to argue and beat your point at people, so here i go. 2. Some want to make male Viera be a bisexual/bishounen type of man but that doesn't mean that official sketches of what they would have looked like back in 2014 don't exist. You were saying we have no clue what they would look like, and you were wrong.
3. No no, it's not about being basic, it's about you trying to weasel out. An official sketch of what they were thinking male Viera would look like is more official than female Ronso in FFX 20 years ago, when Hrothgar isn't even Ronso, it's just a cat race. Hrothgar don't even share a lore that's similar to Ronso, while Viera shares the same lore as in their ivalice games.
Massive respect to you, if you actually do this.
That's about all I've to say. Anyone can and so so so many threatened SE by something like this when Hrotgar and Viera were announced to be genderlocked. I do like people putting their money where the mouth is.
Spoiler alert, they didn't. Not even for a day, on their lodestone you can see they earned achievements in game immediately after posting this all the way up until today lol. Just threats for the sake of threats instead of speaking like a civilized customer.
This is why I hid my public achievements on my lodestone (at least I think I did), I don't wanna get laughed at.![]()
