That's not a fact; if you say it is, please do prove it. If I remember correctly something like 10% of the people that play the game visit the forum. There hasn't been a thorough study about who quits when expected expansion features are not added.
Moreover, it's more than just whether they quit or not, it damages the product and company brand. The same word of mouth that brings people to the game can be the same word of mouth that drives many away.
Why would they do that? We know what fem viera look like, there isnt any official look for male viera. I feel like we should have just got full hroth first then full viera. Hroth brings something new while viera is just another human with ears.I almost wish they'd made Hrothgar female exclusive and Vierra male exclusive.
There are already so many fearsome looking character options for males and so few for females (they only have femroes if they even count)
Likewise, there are already so many delicate and feminine looking options for females and so few for males (we really only have male miqote's)
While yes, this is official concept art, it is offical concept art of what they COULD look like. It is not official cannon art, while hroth is very much influenced by ronso, there is a much more concrete look for them... But, you can argue that that too is subject to change, but that just means im rightstill that there isnt anything official for male viera other than concept art. Sheesh, look at the original concept art for au ra m. It looks nothing like the finished official look.
Because most people here who threaten "I'll unsub in protest because of X" end up being exposed as liars when months after, they're still playing. And someone unsubbing without a statement doesn't carry across any message because no one (not even SE) knows why they did it. As far as anyone knows, they might be going through financial troubles, or cleared the current raiding tier and are going to play something else in the meantime. That's not a fact; if you say it is, please do prove it. This happens in other MMOs too, which is why people usually always mock posts of "Humph Imma unsub!". Most are just weak false attempts at strong-arming the devs, without actually going through the hardship of the protest they proclaimed they were doing.
Here's an image that perfectly illustrates what I mean: https://pcinvasion.com/wp-content/up...e2-boycott.png
I don't find it confusing, myself.I've said it in other threads and I'll say it here, I'm not angry about the gender lock but I'm more surprised than anything else. A gender locked race is not something I ever would have expected from Yoshida and his team. No male viera, two gender locked races, no healer. I'm so confused by their design decisions this time around.
SE wanted to make a beasty race because they knew it was something the game lacked back then, while the fanbase mostly wanted Vieras. Adding races to this game is a huge pain and adds tons of new work per patch, for every single piece of equipment needs to be adjusted to the new race; thus, SE decided that this would be the very last race they'd add. Now, if you can only add one more race, how can you fulfill both the need for a beasty race and also the need for Viera? The solution was to release half and half in an attempt to please everyone.
Even if I'm not a fan of half races, I do understand why they did it this way.
