Relax ^_^, it's just some vague idea. I wasn't even going into a potency calculation. I was thinking about adding Dark Side Stop natural MP regen and Blood Price to make DRK gain MP from it from both large/boss pull but figured it might not worth the time haha. Since the chance it could happen is next to 0. I knew other DRK prefer HW DRK.

You pressed a lot of buttons.. but the similarities end there.
1. In HW you dealt with the ever depleting MP gauge, allowing you to lose darkside without proper play. A punishment far more stark than merely capping out MP for a second or two.
2. You had an unpredictable OGCD proc in the form of Low Blow. There were times where mine would proc 3 times in a row, adding extra ogcds to expend without clipping your GCDs.
3. Reprisal could only be used after parry.
4. Scourge added a dot management aspect.
5. More skills using Dark Arts as a buff meant you had to be more precise in when you used it for risk of it being consumed for something else.
And if you go back to launch, there was double dark arts which was a fabulous time to be alive and main'ing DRK.
Cluttered Mess? Perhaps.
Same amount of ability spamming? Perhaps.
Similar in the slightest? Not at all.




You didn't. At baseline, you generated MP for one DA every third combo. You could also only spend DA on the third combo step. The rest of your weaves came from an assortment of kicks, fireballs, and counterattacks as they procced or came off cooldown.
You couldn't even dark arts every other word if you tried.





Oh my Altana, I can't believe I'm going to defend Lyth.
But Lyth didn't prove you right, they showed that you don't know what you're talking about. Stormblood DRK was not the same as Heavensward DRK. SB DRK was easier to play, and there was way more of a Dark Arts focus. Good for somethings, bad for others.
Give me Heavensward DRK any day of the week. More oGCDs to use than any tank ever. Its only issue TP sustainability in real long fights, though you could also resort to less damage efficient magic once that happened anyway. Little bit of an enmity issue after the tank nerf, but if we keep current stupid enmity then it won't matter.
As for the OP, some of those ideas are cool. I would love for Scourge to come back, and I would love for more combos. I'd at least like for blood to generate faster than it does currently. I really rather miss being able to Quietus + Blood Weapon and get like 35~50 blood back depending on pull size. And I definitely miss Blood Price as well.
