I know that language, and you're not original for using it. It's the most hands in the air, "but I didn't do/say anything wrong" kind of tone used by people looking to antagonize and then pry a wedge into any aggressive words the other person might use to turn it against them while also being passive aggressive.

Reminds me of that episode of South Park where trolling was explained.

I don't feel targeted either. Clearly there's some miscommunication going on here. I'm only responding to your posts. To be honest, you were the one who "came in hot" so to speak. I'd say your tone (in the post I first responded to) was very much an overreaction to someone's opinion.

Imagine thinking that believing we (the playerbase and SE) need to take better action to avoid endangering minors in a game for people 13 and up is "living in a bubble".

I remember back when I was like 9 and playing on Neopets, I posted in the forums if there was any other 9 year olds around I could be friends with (which, looking back, was kind of Cringe) and swiftly got perma-banned because they thought I was some crusty old guy preying on kids. I didn't get it at the time, but now that I'm much older I understand why they did that, and I wish other online games had much more strict rules when it comes to even potential risk.

Like someone else said in here, they were groomed in a game like this before (and @ that person: I'm really sorry that happened to you), and it's not a new concept for young people to be preyed upon in sexual scenarios by adults. Chris Hansen made that very clear. Both the people hosting the game (SE in this case) and the players (us, obviously) need to make sure we don't endanger minors in that way and also do our best to protect others from it being done to them.

The idea of not ERPing with a stranger seems pretty self-explanatory. I don't know what it's like because I don't do it myself, but you have to wonder who's on the other side of it. And if you don't, well...

People keep saying "online actions not rated by the ESRB" or whatever as if it means they're totally in the clear to engage with anyone they want in a sexual manner which is a bit gross if you ask me.

It's our jobs as adults to protect minors. Period. There really isn't any way to argue against that. Maybe their parents are lazy, or bad, or whatever, but that just means we have to pick up the slack. Have compassion, please.
