    Thats actually what spurred my initial question.

    personally I would love to wear a leather hunters cowl. but the Def/stats/materia meldability is out of balance on the hooded gear. I would even take a maroon/forest green cloth hooded garb. I just like the hooded garb and I can see my bard wearing dark reds and greeds with gold or silver trim in that flamboyent mintrel fashion
