I, for one, think the devs are taking this way too far.

It's fine if you disagree, but I don't think sucking all the fun out of what made the jobs interesting and distinct from each other and then clapping your hands together claiming they're "balanced" is the kind of balance I would want. It's homogenisation through and through. It's not difficult to avoid exclusion if everyone is the same, but this comes with a hefty pricetag -- the loss of diversity. For all the time many of us have invested into this game, we deserve better than that.
Well, so it's the difference of ends and means to that ends.

See, if you want to see the means to which SE got to the ends isn't ideal... I actually agree with you there.

But as I also tend to prefer playing a certain healer that has spent a good chunk of time being the healer no one wants in their groups, and that some people think should be the inferior healer by default, I'm not quite so eager to throw away balance for a mid-expac rework even if such were viable.

The devs' decision to homogenise the jobs is meant precisely for avoiding cases like what you've experienced, so I can understand your viewpoint if that is the case. I wouldn't want anyone to experience that kind of exclusion either, believe me. Players should be weighted by the merit of their own skill level, not by the job that they play. (Yet it is important to also understand that people will be people. Some will look at the job played rather than the player, regardless, and this is unfortunately unavoidable.)

But I personally just cannot endorse a system that achieves that end at the cost of fun.

    ・MPが厳しいのでMPを回復する効果を付ける
MP usage for ASTs seem to encounter problems so some actions will have MP recovery effect attached

    ・ライトスピードは高速詠唱のみで他のアクションでMPを回復できるように
Lightspeed will only have reduced cast time effect retained and its "Reduce MP Cost" effect will be moved to other actions.

    ・スリーヴドローの効果を改修
Sleeve Draw effect will be revamped
The Question I have is what is the change for SD? For the Rest I am fine =)

Fully agree. It's better to buff a job that's being excluded rather than bring down others.

Indeed fun is most important, then balance or accessibility
The problem with the buff the shit job is that SE themselves caused this mess in the first place in sb with WHM's destruction (by ignoring player suggestions to improve WHM) then decided to double down on it instead this expansion by destroying Ast and Sch (once more, by ignoring playerbase). If they had brought WHM up in SB to ast/sch instead of turning it into a "pure healer" cure 1 spammer then SHB could have become a golden age for healers. Or at the very least we wouldn't have the role in such dire straits given the status of the rest of the jobs

Unfortunately we got this timeline where devs refuse to listen or even acknowledge healer issues and instead focus on two goals
    1. Does the job have enough healing to solo heal everything?
    2. Is it so simple even idiots who fail hall of the novice can play it at level 80?

They wanted healers more accessible, sure more healers are always good. But sacrificing fun, uniqueness and all the other factors is not the solution. Its no good getting people in if they are wanting to leave immediately.
The main barrier to healing in this game is not and never was complexity, it was nerves and fear. We have an introductory healer- its conjurer. Anyone new to healing should pick up conjurer as it gives the basics and you can level it sufficiently to get the grasp of things between guildhests and dungeons.

To be fair, it cannot be understated FFlogs played a significant role in that exclusion. At the time, pDPS was all that matter. Which meant if you had any interesting in parsing, you wanted buff jobs. Black Mage, Monk, and later Samurai, languished in obscurity for essentially the same reason. With the shift to rDPS/aDPS, selfish jobs no longer have worry about the almighty Trick Attack, Piercing debuff and etc. That isn't to say White Mage lacked issues but I sincerely doubt it would have been ostracized the way it was had rDPS being the ranking factor; 3.4 notwithstanding. 10% AoE balance was just comically broken.
