Gimmie playable Lupin

Im not sayin I want them in next update or something crazy anytime soon. Just, if they do plan on adding another race, then please add Lupin.




I started as a Miqo'te, tried Au Ra for like a 20 mins, and realized I just didnt like how the males looked, then swapped to Hroth when they came out. As for faces, SE did say that work was being done for both Hroth and Viera, so hopefully soon we will have more options like promised. As I said, I'm not trying to step on Viera or Hroth toes or even Female Hroth and Male viera toes, I just want to see Lupin if they ever decide to add more races.

Wasnt feeling male au ra eh? I can relate. I tried so many combos but I always go back to what you see here. The tiny miqo. And even with that I wish I had more options not gonna lie. I want more hair and better long striaght hair. The only option is that sephy hair you get at with MGP but while it looks BEST fro mthe back with the kitty hat on.. it sucks from the front. T.T

They are working stuff out with Hrothgar and when ever thats done, I'm hopeing this can kinda be added to the table, maybe the edge of the table... sorta falling off and just kinda teetering there, but.. still sorta kinda there?

They were released a year ago, at this point the only fix might come for the expansion. So you introduce a race one expansion and add standard features an expansion later?
Don't want to be harsh but this wont happen, SE already said there wouldn't be a new race.

Lol! At this rate you won't see the new viera hair or hrothgar faces until the next expansion. That'll be the selling feature for our limited race players!

Ah. But see, here is where you are wrong. SE did not say there won't be anymore new races, just probably won't due to how the code is all this and that. Soo, there is a chance, even if it is small.

In the latest "Letter from the Producer" stream for Final Fantasy XIV, Game Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida revealed that, due to the difficulties of developing new races for the MMO, the gender-locked Hrothgar and Viera races will be the final races added to FFXIV.

In a Fan Festival keynote speech, I stated that this will likely be the last time we add new playable races to FFXIV. To put it simply, a tremendous amount of time and resources are required to develop one. I’m sure you all understand that a new race will require new faces, hairstyles, bodies, and other assets. In addition to this, they need to be capable of equipping all existing items—this alone requires a massive commitment of resources. Each race has a unique frame and body type, and so every piece of visible equipment needs to be carefully adjusted to display properly on Hrothgar and Viera models. A cursory search will show that FFXIV has around ten thousand equippable items already implemented, all of which must be manually modified by our designers. This is an immediate and unavoidable development cost incurred when adding a new race.

I was watching the live letter and I strongly remember them saying probably or likely, but nothing as concrete as No. I know SE has a record of saying things like that so as to at least keep the possibility of just in case they may decide to do what ever thing they are saying they may or may not do, but it is still a small thing to hope for.

i bet they make the male basically lupin/wolf race (all fur and wolf head/face), while the female is kitsune waifu (human look just fox ear and tail) lol

We already have Human dragon, human cat, and human bunny... really don't need more of that.

I doubt that. With how things are looking with Hrothgar, I'm sure we are gonna get beastly females. Plus, there are female Lupin (at least... I am certain I saw one..) in the game already, so again if we ever do get Lupin, doubt they will just be another human animal thing.

I always thought the Lupin looked extremely cheap, almost comical in their design. Like very obviously just a Hyur model with a wolf head tacked on. It would have been nice to see them actually expand on their design and give them a more unique look as a playable race, but with the addition of Hrothgar, I very much think that ship has sailed.

I remember the developers saying there would be a wolf-like face for Hrothgar. Hopefully when their customization is expanded on they give them that face and tail option so you can at least stray from the feline look.
