I think Female Viera & Hrothgar need to be finished before male viera are even considered
Like adding Viera Ear spots
And better hairstyles that are well suited for Viera (Like Frans giant ponytail, not the sad rats tail we got instead)

Yeah, I would prefer that they finish what they started first. Viera and Hrothgar are lacking considerably in more than a few areas as they currently stand.
Yes! Give us XII's ears; I don't know why they decided to give us so many ear options but not XII's....it's not like Fran's the only one that uses those ears in XII, so it wasn't to keep Fran uniue, her hair is already unique.
As for the rest, nah, they can do both things, give us the missing genders and add more/old hair styles for female Viera and male Hrothgar.
HahaStarting to wonder the same.
My point was that everything costs money. Even adding Male Viera costs money. That's...basically all I was trying to say, though I guess I could/should have put it in simpler terms. I know what he said, and I understood it completely. But even the things he views as more important in the process still costs money. If money isn't an issue, that's fine, but the cost is still there.
You know I had to laugh at you weaseling out of the conversation with a "all I was trying to say." I'll let you keep your dignity.
I'm a paying customer, I know it costs money.

I'd die for the hairstyle on the right.
Added to viera of course.

Feel free to show me where it was stated he said Outright No to new races.
Every feature added to a product, specially a franchise goes through a rigorous process of analysis. You cannot add whatever you want, even as the producer of a game without passing it through Marketing and other departments; expansions specially would have to be reviewed and vetted by the CEOs. You cannot just add a race because people liked it in 2013; that's not how real organizations work.
The good news for (male) Viera and (female) Hrothgar is that their opposite genders already went through this process so the XIV group knows it would most likely be approved. They however would still need show analytics and fan support for it.
I don't know what kind of companies you have worked with and at what levels but you cannot make product changes on your own just because you feel like it. Bangaa and any new race would have to run around so many hurdles (analytics, research, marketing impact, franchise direction considerations, etc) that they would never be added; as opposed to the missing genders of Viera and Hrothgar. Why do you think he said outright "no" to a new race after Viera and Hrothgar but didn't say a definitive no to male Viera and female Hrothgar.
Because I can tell you he said "likely" these would be the last new races. Which means, just like the "Missing Genders" it's always a possibility.
And it's not because of this marketing and analytics you spout on about.
Going by that logic, explain to me why we didn't get Viera back in Heavensward, where it was talked about, and they have concept art for it dating back to when HW was in development. If this marketing jargon is this all powerful thing that dictates what gets added to the game, why did we get the Au-Ra instead, if "marketing" "research" and blah-blah-blah dictated people wanted and requested Viera? Wouldn't that mean it would have been in the companies best interest to put them in, that this marketing and research all triangulated to Add Viera?
Getting Au-Ra is the opposite result.
So I'll believe YoshiP over your Jargon that he and his team decided: with backing of course, that they wanted to do something new at the time.
1. Just because there is a 0.0000001% chance they will add another race it doesn't mean that it will happen. The evidence given supports the claim more on that you will never see a new race like Baanga than that you will. The chance is so small they had no other choice but to split Viera/Hrothgar.Feel free to show me where it was stated he said Outright No to new races.

2. You're just arguing to argue haha; that's a false equivalency. Yoshida stated they're looking at a solution that would allow them to add the missing genders. No such statement or any equivalent was made about adding a new race, on the contrary, many points were made as to why it's an impossibility to add a new race.
3. Au ra: Au ra went through that rigorous process I explained. Yoshida explained why they added Au ra instead of Viera, he's the producer, he's the one that puts the "feature" forth for the various departments to examine, including the CEOs. I'm sure a few of them asked them why not Viera, but his presentation for Au ra convinced them. Why? Because he had data and other research to back it up such as the poll they did back in 2012. It's not jargon, it's called running an organization. You cannot make decisions by yourself, specially with the company's premier franchise.
I wonder how many pages this thread would lose if every post that wasn't in favor of male Viera was removed?
