Kind of sad for a game designers to rely on latency in order to make a challenging encounter don't you think? Not all players are even equal when it comes to latency, with JP players having the least, EU being the worst and NA in-between.
SE admitted it and I am pretty certain that they weren't even aware of the issue when Ifrit was designed. We are supposed to play the game the way devellopers wants us to play the game. If Ifrit was "tank & spank" without latency, then so be it. SE's job to make it harder and not player's job to pretend that the fight is challenging thanks to latency...
