    Kind of sad for a game designers to rely on latency in order to make a challenging encounter don't you think? Not all players are even equal when it comes to latency, with JP players having the least, EU being the worst and NA in-between.

    SE admitted it and I am pretty certain that they weren't even aware of the issue when Ifrit was designed. We are supposed to play the game the way devellopers wants us to play the game. If Ifrit was "tank & spank" without latency, then so be it. SE's job to make it harder and not player's job to pretend that the fight is challenging thanks to latency...

    I lost 10000 times in Ifrit, never running out of Eruption on time and I always thought it was the lag.
    I got stuck on animations when eruptions appeared and I wouldn't have time to run far enough to avoid the plumes etc.
    Now I have won Ifrit more than I have lost and I have learned the patterns of abilities Ifrit uses and I can predict when I should not start casting stoneskin because Eruptions (or some other ability) was going to happen.

    Should it be like this? No
    A battle should be challenging without players having to memorize patterns so they can avoid some fatal attacks. Lag (or w/e you wanna call it) is a huge issue on this fight and is should be fixed - but something then should be added because Ifrit would be a push over without the lag.

    I beat Ifrit yerterday night. We were 1/3, there was lag sure like allways but not intolerable. The ones that we lose was because bad timing for us went casting and get caught in eruption beside that we did ok

    me and my linkshell been winning ifrit and today i have to say was pretty bad some people did not even see the eruption too 3sec when it blow up and they die.

    I don't know if it's ISP or Network but just have to deal with it too 2.0.

    Move to the UK/EU where this shit is three times worse. Then make a thread like this.
