It's time (Option to Hide other players Glamour)

Yeah, I have played a good number of old mmo that had a feature like this. one of them just slapped everyone in basic robe. I loved this feature whenever Zerg related stuff was happening since it would reduce lag by a lot. There was another one where you could literally just turn off all players entirely or another they were just adorable ghost things or something floating around (anime mmos so creative with this lol) or other games had a feature where you would only see your friends/party mates to help with lag.

I wouldn’t mind this feature at all for those Zerg moments especially.

I don't pay that much attention to glamour, but... if you want to be noticed because of your "flashy" glamour... at least please... play properly. People whith "flashy" glamour who spend the time kissing the floor... Hell yeah you are noticed : You're plain bad as player... Not sure this is your purpose...

Have you seen the default, unglamoured gear?
It's usually hideous, and by no means does it fit the 'aesthetic' of the game.
You will still get people wearing thongs and bras because sometimes those things are BiS. Take the last Eden tier's caster/healer gear for example. You'd have all male characters running around in womens nighties.

I'd much prefer a "everyone else wears starter race gear" over "disable glam" any day. At least that way it wont look like a jumbled mess.

I wouldn’t mind the starter gear or if they just put a default robe on them. As much as I like flashy gear like Eureka stuff, relics, primal gear, Unfortunately all that in one screen plus mounts, minions and impressive skill effects equals a lag fest. I remember when I fought the A rank in il Mheg for the first time, even with effects turned off I was lagging hard and dying to the dumbest things. (Poor healers in my group forever rezzin everyone , including me lol) Moments like that, I really wish a feature like this existed.

Heck the game I played where I could only see just my party mates would’ve been a great option for that zerg fest.

Given what's going on in the real world right now, there's a lot more people showing up for S rank hunts. This feature would be useful for reducing on screen clutter.

I'm still hoping that this might be a surprise feature included with 5.3 or a future patch. I think it'd be a really cool, optional quality of life feature.

Thankfully, the tech they are using for Glams means this option will never happen, and I hope they never figure out a way to make that happen. I enjoy seeing people's personalities shine through. Seeing the thong-wearing tank, Oh My!! enjoyable, seeing my characters wearing classical fantasy themed outfits awesome. If you really dislike those items, then join the modding community, I'm sure they have a mod that will change thongs into acceptable pants. I don't want to force the company to bow to your ideal. And I don't want them to make it so people can remove individuality from our characters.

Well, with any luck the technology behind the glamour system will be improved and rebuilt over time to allow for all sorts of additional features to be built in. If the option to hide glamour were to be implemented and you wanted to see the supposed 'individuality' of other players then you'd be able to do so. The players who did not care to see it, however, would have the option to turn it off.

Which allows for both camps to be content.

They're not removing anyone's individuality. They can still be the best thong wearing tank there is to their hearts content. Someone using the feature isn't going over to that person and telling they can't have their character wearing a thong. Also nobody is "forcing the company to bow to their ideal". It's a suggestion for an optional feature, not a demand.
