Let's talk about this games tanking philosophy...

Back to WoW for me I think. This community is hella stubborn, but I understand you hold strong to the game you love. You will defend it's flaws to the teeth and that's fine.

I think the game is good sroty wise though, and the dps classes are kinda fun, maybe I will just avoid PLD, with it being the source of my frustration. Either way, thanks for the feedback everyone.

Also, someone said something about making friends... Like mate, friends are to be made outside, not in a game. Get real.

I think the stubborn here is you. Again, comparing one MMO to the other is dumb and honestly unfair to both games.

If you find WOW fun then that play that one if you find the DPS centric mentality of FFXIV to be frustrating.

Someone already explained it plain and simple. This game is scripted to the teeth so all that's left is to DPS once you have memorized the fight. That is the reward part. If that doesn't sit well with you, then by all means play DPS.

We are not stubborn and it's pretty flawed that you blame the game's design on the players. If people are hostile to you then it is the plain rudeness you've displayed in your post.

You claim something that simply isn't true. And can't even be bothered to do research on the very thing that you want to change.

Even from a fantasy point of view, healers and tanks fight. Not every second that a healer needs to heal or a tank need to just block damage.

Again, your comparison is what has turned a lot of the replies here the wrong way, FFXIV is not WOW and WOW is not FFXIV. They never will be, stop forcing your mindset onto something that is not the other.

TBF to me, everyone assumed i am talking about savage raiding and boss fights, and I was not. But one way thinking is a trend here, just get the strap ready so you can stubbornly defend a point I was never making.

Anyway, I have an opinion, I'll stick to that. No harm done really. Wish you all the best in your play, and I will just play a tank to it's abilities and see how that goes. Don't see the point in needless arguements. I won't win here, nor does anyone have to. Just enjoy and let bygones.
