    Road Block. Late 20s

The bf and I are really enjoying the game whenever we do get a chance to play (which isn't often). Unfortunately for us we have hit a slump, the closer we get to level 30 from level 25, the slower our rate of exp gets.

He prefers not to party as the level of l33t on my server is pretty intense, and he is an MMO noob, but whenever I do convince him to party, it usually ends up being a snore fest. We grinded ants in Nophica for about 45 mins before we called it quits because it was just soooo boring, plus our rate of exp from spamming battle leves with full aspect was pretty much the same, and a little less mind numbing.

We decided to try to get our chocobos, only to discover that
    a) we were 750 seals short after completing GC quests (really SE? like.. come on lol), and caravans are just way too hard to do on our own.
    b) GC leves are rediculously difficult at level 28, it's unfortunate we can't share/link these.. the rewards are pretty pathetic too, 40-80 seals per leve.. at that rate (at the bare minimum level to pass them) it would take us a few days (4 hours a day roughly) just to be able to get our damn birds.

Soo we moved back on to leveling.. and we just haven't had any motivation to play because of the last couple days wasted on trying to get our birds.

Are we the only ones stuck at this level range and having issues even trying to motivate ourselves to play? Any suggestions on how to make a grind party that doesn't put us to sleep? This game has seen vast improvements, but I fear that the no-lifers of the community who are crying for content (which SE can't deliver, so they feed us rediculous time-sinks) are ruining the game for people like us who can't afford to invest 80 hours a week into this game.

    EDIT:
Just to clarify, we are in the Storm GC, our server is pretty sparcely populated, and I think LL GC is the least common GC, so shouting/ starting parties for caravan is pretty much out of the question. I like a little bit of a challenge but it's silly that SE is making simple things like getting a chocobo nearly impossible for new players.

Well, actually- You could in fact have acquired your birds just with what you earn in seals from your GC quests, you might be missing one, or alternatively spent some and forgot? I know I was aware that i'd need those seals for it since I joined a GC so I saved and alas, it gave me exactly as many as I needed. That is, however, not the point of your post.

You're not the only ones stuck in that level range either, it was kind of painful for me to get through it as well, though I did have a pretty effective party at the time. We were in eight, I believe (all good friends who knew eachother from elsewhere, also we were all somewhat sub-optimal in playing skills so we have a fair few random scrapes that added to the excitement). I do remember mostly everyone going "Don't hit the crabs" and we were somewhere in La Noscea, I don't remember where, though.

I suggest getting a slightly below sub-optimal party, hope that the guys are nice and jolly and go look around in La Noscea for foes say, five levels above you. That should do it.

get better gear to kill better, get to lvl 30 and get free goobbue mount. When xping you always want to at least have lvl appropriate weapon since damage stats on weapon are the most potent stats in game.

Yes, Wutai has too few players, especially at the lower levels. What time are you on? I have MRD at 30 and would help out with caravans, as I need the seals too.

People do occasionally shout for parties in Ul'dah, but players almost always recruit from their LS first and from elsewhere second, which may make it hard to get a party. The best way to keep a grind party interesting is to make it challenging. Unless everyone is an excellent player, people should get KO'd sometimes and tanks should have to tank, healers should have to heal, damage-dealers should have to execute their weaponskills from the proper side of the mob(s) to trigger combos. If the enemies are challenging enough that these things are encouraged, if not absolutely required, then the grind can be frantic and fun. Forming this sort of group is rare though.

On the plus side, if you're on at the same time as me, let's do some leveling or caravans. I may be able to offer both of you an LS. Good luck either way!

Look about leveling doing dungeons could help you out a bit since you can duo the 25+ dungeon, second if you want to get more seals easily go to cassiopea hollow and do company leves, you get about 90 seals per leve and of course you get a lot more exp with those leves, but those are focus on solo mode, you should try those, especially the ones that wants you to kill as many mobs as possible. You'll be in 30 in no time

As was mentioned, the grand company quests should give you more than enough for the Chocobo after completing them all. This was the case for more than the few people I have helped with the questlines. If you still need seals look near/in the city guilds for sidequests that give company seals, I want to say they give several hundred seals each.

As for venues of XP, take a look at mooglebox's camp location tool if you haven't already. At your level range I usually do the Diremites in Nophica's wells (I'm assuming those are the ants you are talking about). It looks like theres camps for Orobons/Anglers there now so you can try those too, as well as the Wolf or Roseling camps near Gridania. There's always the tried and true regular Guildleves too.
