I dont think ishgard restoration was thought out very well...

IMO, it should have been handled like Doma. And if indeed it eventually becomes a housing ward, I’d say it should be gated behind that progress (so didn’t bother with event, can’t buy a house).


But that is exactly why it is not personal like Doma: it absolutely is housing and per player progress would have locked people out of housing. Nobody is going to progress that story months later if there is no house to be had at the end.

Well that would be a big slap in the face to have it gated; so when you finish you find there are no houses left. That is assuming it would be using the current housing system, any newcomer would be SOL.

I would be all for a gated system if at the end you were guaranteed a house, perhaps using a new fully instanced system.

I wish it would be anyone who got to top 12 can take the house he owns to there for free. i dont think people would agree though , and eh im just glad that i got a house and not a cottage, can just go there once people leave ishgard for whatever new housing they add after it.

It absolutely looks like a housing ward... but then again there are several quests in the Foundation where you meet the people who are actually living in these houses. So I'm going to laugh SO hard if Square is just trolling us all into making what looks like a housing ward, but then doesn't turn out to be that.

I don't see these as being mutually exclusive—the current area could simply be "Ward Zero", with the rest being the normal 1-12 or 18 or however many wards we get these days.
