More gratuitous crossovers of overrated games?
maybe for a raid tier, nothing more.

Dunno in what world I'd call Chrono Trigger overrated. It's beloved for a reason.
It may not be cutting edge anymore, but that's because it's old and stuff it did differently people have done since then.
Yeah. I feel it is pretty suitably rated. Not a lot of people say it's the best JRPG of all time (some do, and they are entitled to their opinion), though it's still highly regarded, and it's pretty often in their top 5 or top 10. Considering it had the best minds for the genre coming together for a project that wasn't a collaborative disaster, the recipe had all the ingredients for greatness, and they succeeded.
When asked in an interview about what future collaborations they would like to see, Shadowbringers main scenario writer Natsuko Ishikawa responded with her personally wanting to see a collaboration with the Chrono series.
It would be absolutely legendary if Yoshi-P can reunite Hironobu Sakaguchi (creator of Final Fantasy series) and Yujii Horii (creator of Dragon Quest series) as guest creators for a Final Fantasy XIV x Chrono Trigger collaboration. Being called a miracle worker would be an understatement at this point.
Tell me how you really feel.
But really, I agree. CC had elements I liked as standalone things, but overall it was pretty sadface garbage.
I would love a CT cross over though.
All jrpgs were niche before FF VII and the series is also dead, so there is 0 chance of it happening unless a miracle happens and square decides to make AAA chrono game.
Yes, RPGs are a niche genre, but we are talking about crossovers...in an RPG, so at that point the parameters change a bit. To the average videogame player, CT is probably pretty niche. To an RPG player, not so much.
Yes, a CT crossover is very unlikely, but it's not the craziest thing to happen. 2 years ago, I would have said a CT crossover was more likely than a Nier Automata crossover as a full raid series, yet here we are.
Suddenly I'm reminded of a huge war I started with CT fans way back in 2001 at this now shut down forum called Rpgdreamers. Those fans made sure that for the rest of my life, I would never play CT. The only thing people can say about CC is the mangling of the story and how a certain black innate character was supposed to be/hinted to be Magus.
It never goes well when CC is mentioned along with CT, as it just turns into CC hate fest.
To be honest the story makes no got damn sense, I can agree with that. I had to basically research everything to get it. What I love about it is the battles, the tech system and the awesome music. Some parts of it was well written, like Dario and the whole thing with the rise and fall of the Acacia Dragoons. I freaking loved the atmosphere of Chronopolis. "The Arbiter of time, whom the three fates smile". I remember much, I love it that much, second to Suikoden 2.
Gonna stop here, I'm already irritated at reading one of my favorite games progressively get slammed and typing on my phone in this tiny little white box and not letting me format anything dvgsdbnrbhrcr

I'd only ever want a cross-over event that didn't only release male specific outfits or 1 specific outfit as well as hairstyles. We have enough short spikey hairstyles that just look terrible & need more long-inspired hairstyles.
I didn't even participate in the FFXV event due to the lack of good cosmetics- that & FFXV just wasn't any good & not worth the attention it had gotten.
