My first run of The Dancing Plague.
Alright, my day is over.
honestly i didn't mind the whale ride. a lot of conversing can take place up there before the jokes start rolling in. sometimes people bite on it and you spend the entire whale ride hamming it up a lot and making the entire run a lot less dull.I mean, i suck but i somehow manage and if smt escapes me, ill get it unless you run around like crazy, but usually even i pull everything after the boss as the start of that dungeon feels like ripping out my teeth... I hate how we only get ONE bloody new dungeon and its only story dungeons from now on. I they do more dungeons like that one ill check out of Ex roulett, i swear..
The part on the whale should have been the solo part, I just hate it so much...
Ive never had that and i cant help, it bores the hell outta me, i wanna do stuff and not semi afk, i dont go Limsa for the same reason... lol
This depends entirely on the number of mobs and where they are gated. Also on how your dps are targeting. If its a mob of 3-4 and the dps are tag teaming the same mob with single target abilities then they will die much faster than if they were each targeting a different mob and only the tank was using aoe skills. In a larger mob of 6-10+ where single-targeting is even less efficient, you've got your healer likely concentrating on keeping you alive and eventually running out of mana before even a 3rd of the pack is dead. If you've got low dps then it is certainly more efficient to pull smaller so the healer can contribute more to fill the gap, though a really good tank and a really good healer could probably make it about even, time-wise. But I assume we're talking pug groups here. The odds are not in anyone's favor in that particular case.So long as you, the Tank, survive, large pulls are always quicker than small pulls.
Someone will be able to AoE (everyone should bet at level 80 but lets just assume both DPS and healer are idiots) so even if it's just you AoEing and everyone else single targeting, it will be quicker than lots of small pulls.
It's disrespectful. They had no right to speak to you that way, but not throwing out a 'hey, you can go wild, I can handle it' was basically saying 'I am ok with this pace'. The emoting was basically a dismissal of the rest of the party's contribution, such that it was. Especially during battle, and more especially sitting down.If you seriously wanna imply that an emote which didn't impact the run at all is on equal footing with calling someone an a*****e, I feel bad for people partying up with you.
Poorly perceived or not, it does not give you the right to verbally harass someone no matter how hard you're trying to sell that I was also being "toxic" by doing something other than DPSing during my healing downtime in a party that didn't care for DPS.
And god was that downtime huge.
You basically said 'if you can't play to my expectations, I can't take you seriously' which isn't bad as throwing out a 'you suck' but is implying the same thing. Just saying.
you not playing your role to the fullest, and being immature. you playing the victim, when it was on you to communicate to ask the tank for larger pulls. If i saw you doing that in any of my groups id call you out, then remove you. Take screenshots after the dungeon is over, not during.

Okay, I'm gonna talk about my 73 trial from yesterday. It was draining and I hadn't felt like doing anything else after I got out of there. Frankly the only thing good that came out of it was that I dinged 75(very FFXI nostalgic thing to say, I couldn't resist :3).
First order of business was that the war had me thinking I was gonna main tank. She's just standing there out in the open, burning up time. I'm like, (okay, I guess it's on me), so I shoot for the boss and what I see is provoke right away.
...I don't think I've said WTF so loud in my whole life, not in party of course.
Whatever, we proceed.
The boss does this really neato move where a garden of evil roots from hell spawn, lol, and half the party got trapped, including the ThatsMyBoss War. Yes, she rubbed me the wrong way, I was past salty and spicy, I was hot saucey.
Fun time came during the add phase. I didn't get this part til several wipes in(haha), but ThisIsMyBoss War, took it upon herself to upgrade her title to TheseAreMyAdds, because when I grabbed one, this little rusted tin can opener provoked the other off me. >_<!!! I know I can provoke back but I might need it later.
Anyway, healer is complaining that one of the adds is on him and this is the part I didn't get. 3 people left after the first wipe.
The Dennis the Menance WAR stopped trying to be TheOnlyTank and let me tank a darn add. What I didn't get is once they got big they STILL needed to be tanked, I thought it didn't matter. This was my bad and I probably caused wipe #2. Wipe #3 was because we were all attacking whatever...
When the 4th attempt started we all had to discuss how to approach the add phase. A kill order needed to be established and what mobs can and needs to be tanked and throughout. Remaining time was 20m during this.
No wipe this time but the healer made an oops by not standing in the water during the Fist of Fire, so the ground turned into the worlds largest DoT, and the roots of hell spawned and no one could see a darn thing.
We cleared and I saw my soul hit the exit before I did.
I;m from boston, so in this case imo the cursing was justifiable. I didnt notice the cursing was censored. and read it as just multiple ????. but still the poster is trying to play victim when they was the instigator."?????????????????????" is the cursing.
This could have been handled in many different directions. The cursing was unnecessary. I suggest you reread the posters original post. I don't agree with the sitting, but let's not pretend that the other members are purely innocent here.
im new to the game and taking a break after being fed up with some of the immaturity i experienced in df yesterday. some people have a 0 tolerence to bs. You trying to play and your healers is goofing off with their thumb up their rear.. see how fun that is. poster shoulda communicated not be passive aggressive.

Story:
me waiting for tank in need to do guildheist roulette.
DPS, more DPS, Healer, DPS again...I guess I'll either give up the bonus or be here all day.
Play a tank, they're always in need!
/story
(Yeah I know, in the morning it's always DPS who are in need and have short queues while Tanks and Healers are more in need at more crowded times, it was just for a laugh cause nobody thinks "tanks wait times")
Tbh, it did impact how those other three saw you. Maybe these three friends are all DPS mains and none of them are too familiar with tanking to do big pulls? We’ll probably never know, but there’s always two sides of the story and we only have yours. That’s why I’m saying both sides are in the wrong. If you seriously wanna imply that an emote which didn't impact the run at all is on equal footing with calling someone an a*****e, I feel bad for people partying up with you.

Yes, your impact to the situation was minimal at best which is why I called the other three people in your party being petty (and not you), but why does your responses have to bleed with such bad attitude too?
