    You can go back and edit your posts to circumvent the extremely low character limit.

    Regarding your suggestions, I won't go too in-depth on them but I feel the need to point out the most obvious thing with DPS. Melee dps generally deal higher damage than ranged to compensate for the fact that they have to move more often. And of the melee dps, SAM probably suffer the least because they don't have positionals to worry about and have tools that help them disengage and reengage fairly easily. BLM deals considerably more damage than most of the other ranged dps jobs because it is a "pure" dps job, i.e. it only deals damage and does not bring any support functionality to the group (for example, BRDs give buffs or RDMs can raise or heal in a pinch, etc). While tuning might need to be adjusted here and there, pure dps jobs should always have the potential for higher numbers than support jobs or there is no point in bringing them.

    And I specifically say "potential" because I'm always a big proponent of bringing the player, not the job. An excellent RDM should always out dps a terrible BLM.

    This is 100% false. SAM has positionals.

    If we're going to nitpick, I feel the need to point out that including everything I said in your quote and saying it's 100% false would imply that everything I said was false... which it isn't. At the very least, I'm certain that going back and editing posts will get you around the character limit, lol.

    But as far as SAM goes, you are technically correct. SAM has two positionals which, unlike the other melee jobs, don't effect potency, just kenki generation which does tie into dps, but is still more forgiving than other melee dps jobs. Forgive me for glossing over it, but I did say I didn't want to go too indepth.

    Saying SAM doesn't have positionals is like saying NIN doesn't.

    5 missed positionals is 320 potency lost. 10 could be considered 1200 potency, depending. Minimum 640. That's quite a bit.

    NIN actually loses LESS potency by missing positionals than SAM does. 5 missed is 300 potency. Actually, looking at MNK as well, SAM loses more, and same with DRG. MNK and DRG both add up to 300 potency lost if you factor in 5 full missed GCD combos.

    And clearly people can infer from the remaining bit of my statement that I was specifically talking about your comment on SAM and not the entirety.
