Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

No offense, but that really just looks like my catboy character, but with longer ears. If I had the race/gender that I wanted to play be delayed by an expansion, I would want something a bit more imaginative that a long-eared catboy.

totally agree! but i also think they can consider adding some softer/younger types of faces. a viera that just got under the wing of an older, more experienced viera, who is already full of scars and looks pretty rough for example. i just think both types could work. look at miqo males for example, they also have options to look more mature and they have some youngish options too.
in the end, i just want them to be as handsome as their female counterpart.

I think for me, theres a difference between pretty and beautiful. I think the 'pretty look' that I see tends to have the boys be a lot more effeminate and soft and fleshy. Muscle definition is indicated but overall minimal outside of the pecks.

Beautiful men can still have the firmer more rugged look but in a, I dunno how you would put it, refined or clean cut way. I dunno. As I said, I think the art is great overall, but its that style I see from time to time when males are drawn as..plushy. It's not my favorite when it comes to pretty men I guess.

Then again, maybe were all getting ahead of ourselves. Perhaps there was something to that dimorphic argument where itd be cool if we had short bunny men way back around page who-knows-what.

Maybe this is the future of Viera in the FFXIV.

I for one would love to play as that pint-sized bunny man, like a lalafell if they were molded from Charles Bronson, fuck bishie bunnies or giant manly bunnies, nothing beats this fine specimen!

HMMM. It is almost like we have humanoid race with animal features aleady in game. And, like, despite character creation being berated from every direction... we can make members of that race look things which embody both, pretty OR rugged - males moreso than females! - with that shitty character creation.

God knows what makes people generally gravitate towards pretty and young options...

The chances of them making male viera fat are in the negatives. They will want to make as much fantasia money as possible so they'll make male miqote 2 so ppl switch. Very few ppl would play fat male viera, plus it makes little sense lore wise

y'know, I certainly would not have minded if the viera had been a bit of a flip in the sexual dimorphism you see with au ra. That is, having the males being shorter than their female counterparts in this case.
