What's kind of funny is that if you go and talk to the side characters every time you, "Pray return to The Waking Sands." They mention getting to meet with her soon and go on missions and stuff. Particularly Arenvald, who was tasked with protecting Noraxia, supposedly.

Yet, when the Garleans attack, he's nowhere to be seen and is one of the survivors. Noraxia is in Minfilia's room. Why didn't Arenvald protect her, as he was bid to do? Makes me wonder how often Minfilia's orders and stuff were reliably carried out. Nobody seems to bat an eyelash about that, though.

It probably has to do with Arenvald being so much of a side character in ARR that some people even forgot he was there. Hell, when he started popping up more in Stormblood I had entirely forgotten that he was in ARR at all.

Yeah, same, honestly. Alphinaud was all, "Remember Arenvald from the Waking Sands? One of our fellow Scions!" I was like... uhhhhm, I guess?
