Well ijust came out of a Neverreap run that ran smoothy but had a twist at the end. Circumstances lead tome being the tank for the last boss over the actual tank and also me and the other lala in the run (the healer) 2 manning the boss and winning (props to said healer BTW).

It was fun but I'd think I'd rather be GNB or an actual ranged tank if I wanted to tank with a firearm going forward :P

I mostly run AST on Louisoix, but for trial and alliance, and Amaurot Roulette I run tank or DPS, I don't see any healers using Rescue at all. They just don't like you I guess (I'm kidding).

Ohi, I'm starting to think that, or maybe it's a thing of my datacenter. This evening too, I was main tanking the tentacles boss in void ark (I'm bad at names) and the pug healer rescued me away from the boss and on the other side of the arena.
Maybe they don't like my glams? Did I lose the glam endgame against healers?

For some reason I can only pull heal tanking off in vale as AST. If I try it on SCH or god forbid WHM, I will always die due to a couple more critical skills being 50+. As for repeated raising, at least they got to enjoy the macro I had for it: 'So <t>, on a scale of 1 to 100, how spicy was that last hit?'

I did this Snowcloak. Real bad run..my friends' first time doing it, so she didnt know anything and tank was a gogogo tank so i couldnt explain boss fights, ESPECIALLY the Lord of all summons, Fenrir(not really, but in FFXI he is the hardest prime avatar to fight. 99s can waste him, but 75 era he could make people give up life). Ok so....

Tank dead, friend dead, me and summoner, Fenrir vs. AST. I donna what was going on but this dudes tankbuster only tickled me(half health is tickling ). Now Im nervous and hands shaking, but the BROTHERS IN ARMS pretty much made me tank my first boss as a healer ever. All that included getting the tank back up and the summoner getting my friend up.

In hoh 21-30 like 5 min ago, playing as a healer to level.
we have a tank, doesn't use tank stance. thinking, ok maybe he just forgot
5 min later, still no tank stance, in the same room, im getting attacked by 3 mobs cause i had to heal him.
so i ask "can you please turn on your tank stance?"
he says "don't need dungeon is ez"
dps says "maybe just dont play healer to him"
so i say "ok but i was getting attacked by 3 mobs(to the tank), but that might work(to the dps)"
he finally turns it on and says "you beg, i obey"
so the same dps says "shouldnt have to beg you to play your role"

also he quiets down after that,but after the boss dies he says "Annoying blm (dps who spoke up)"
dude clearly knows what tank stance was too cause after i said the 3 mobs line he immediately turns it on

Originally I didnt intend to share this story, but I have to admit that its still bugging me a bit, so might aswell get it off my chest, right?

A while ago my partner (as monk) and I (as paladin) ended up in Chateu Cosmea for our expert roulette. We get paired with a scholar and a blackmage.
Before talking about the run itself, I need to note a few things in regards to that blackmage:
1) Blackmage is their only job at level 80, a few other jobs look like they've been dabbled with, but its clear that BLM is their main.
2) They have the relic-weapon and at least the Crystarium chestpiece, I vaguely recall maybe 2 or 3 more Crystarium-pieces, but I'm not 100% sure on that anymore.
Alright, with my snooping done, lets get on to the first pull! I'm pulling everything thats possible here, so 9 mobs in total - AoE-heaven! Perfect for blackmages!
...except... this one isnt casting a single AoE spell. Weird. I dont know why I believed that it could have been an honest mistake - in retrospect who makes a mistake like that? - but in that moment I figure it might have just been someone forgetting to switch their hotbars and is so much on autopilot they didnt notice or something like that.
So I ask them in party-chat to please use their AoE-rotation and pull the next groups. Only 7 mobs this time. And! There it is! One Fire2! ...and back to single target. No more AoE-spells were casted that pull, despite my partner quickly posting a rough BLM-AoE-rotation using auto-translate.
...I dont want to drag this out longer than needed, so lets cut this short by saying that during the next pulls no AoE-spells were used, while we asked for them multiple times, using autotranslate to point out the correct spells and giving short explantions like "Fire2 will hit all mobs, please use it" (I'm paraphrasing, dont recall what I said excatly). We're not expecting this BLM to use a perfect triple-Flare-rotation, we'd settle for Fire2 spam! Something a BLM can and should do at level 18, let alone 80. At one point we get an "Ok" in respond to those requests, but nothing changes and they continue with their single target rotation.

After the second boss we have enough - this BLM has to be a bot, a troll or someones 3 year old playing. One last chance, but still no AoE on the Dragon-statue and porxie pull. We kick the BLM, get a replacement and finish the dungeon.

...and this could be the end of it: Just another day in DF with someone whos either trolling, botting or hasnt got the faintest idea on how to play.

But it isnt. A few minutes after the dungeon is over I get a tell from someone, lecturing me on how it really isnt nice to kick "newbies" and how I better not do that again. Turns out: Its the guild-leader of that BLM. My first instinct is to blacklist and report them - but then I'm curious, so alright, lets talk about this!
They actually turn out reasonable enough, but here is the reason this is still bugging me: That BLM wasnt a troll or a bot. It was genuinely a person not understanding what their AoE rotation is. Even worse: According to the person I spoke to, the guild had been trying to coach that BLM and everyone seemed to be aware that they were just plain bad. They must have gone through at least 50 dungeons (thats a rough estimate by me - estimating 10 dungeons per story per expansion and at least 2 weeks of expert roulette to get that chestpiece. Its probably on the very, very low side) to get that BLM to 80, the end of Shadowbringers and into that gear. And yet they failed to understand the basics of their job.
And somehow, despite being aware of the issue, their FC-leader felt comfortable to sent me this tell about how shitty it is to kick a "new player".
It got even more frustrating when I suggested that maybe the FC-leader could suggest to that BLM to run dungeons with Trust-NPCs instead if they are so unwilling (or uncapable?) to learn how to actually play their job - the response "Yeah, they dont want to do that, they'd rather do it with other people" - fine, if they want to play with other people, thats fair. But they shouldnt be surprised if the "other people" actually expect them to play properly.

You're not new anymore when you're level 80, wearing endgame gear and are running something thats called "expert roulette" - I'm well aware that you dont need to be an "expert" for that roulette, but knowing that Fire2 is a spell you should cast when there are more than 3 mobs also isnt "expert knowledge"...
