It's like that for a reason, and I'm sure you already know.
Take the time the cutscenes offer to make yourself some tea or a little break from staring at the screen. <3

I suppose, but in the same sense that players are entitled to ask Lalafel to be deleted from the game.
The answer is already no, so why waste your time?
The reality is, watching it on youtube is a far cry from actually getting to experience it yourself.
Your character isn't there, just whatever character the person you're watching is playing, which is already extremely immersion breaking. You don't get the satisfaction of charging head-long into the Praetorium with your comrades. You don't get the satisfaction of watching that dramatic, awesome build up that was the Ultima weapon intro, the maker's ruin starting to play to hype you up as this colossal, unstoppable machine whirls to life and faces you down in the cutscene only for you to actually get to fight it personally, watching in horror as your attacks are ineffective before Hydaelyn comes in to save you. You don't get to experience the awesome build up to its 2nd phase where the weapon demonstrates its full power by unleashing Ultima and you realize just whats at stake if you fail to beat it.
The very first time I ever ran it, I was lucky I had an entire group of friends who let me enjoy the cutscenes; because let me tell you, I would have been catastrophically pissed if I had to choose between watching cutscenes or fighting the bosses, or someone told me to 'go watch it on youtube'. It completely destroys the climatic magic of that instance without the whole flow of cutscenes into battles. Veterans dug their own grave by not letting the new players enjoy the full magic of the instances on their first times, and so we must lay in the bed we created. Just turn on your favorite streaming service, get a 2nd monitor, or pull up a nice book. Or alternatively, people tired of it can simply NOT DO IT. The cutscene lock is never going to change no matter how much you ask, so its best to save the mental energy & breath and just get used to it.

The answer here is for Square to put higher emphasis on world-content (like Fates), and less on re-running garbage content... but at the expense of people needing to wait longer on queues. The reality is, watching it on youtube is a far cry from actually getting to experience it yourself.

Alright then solo instances it is. Or you know, you could just not run it. I don't when I lack the time and my time in game is no lesser for it.

I think I'm the one single Person on this world who enjoyes MSQ Roulette the most. Its my favourite Roulette of the day....... Just turn on Netflix. Watch a new Episode of whatever Series I watch at the moment and get nearly a level up in the process. Best way to level your most hated classes for Amaro Mount.
And use the other dungeons for your favourite classes.
The answer really is either a) retool it into trust-esque solo instance or b) keep it as,it is, it works perfectly fine.
As has been said countless times..don’t want to see the cutscenes, don’t run the content. It is by far unnecessary to leveling up/tome grinding. The only reason to do it is because it is face roll easy with a pretty decent reward for said face roll effort. There are so many options to leveling that MSQ could be completely removed without issue.
Remove the cutscenes and reduce rewards to be appropriate to a 10 min blitzkrieg and nobody will do it, which is exactly why SE did what they did.
This should (or could) be available only when you have a party full of veterans. A window could pop up with a vote system. If everyone agrees, then the skip is available. Its a fair strategy. Maybe they would need to balance it somehow, its a short dungeon, easy leveling.
hope is the first step on the road to disappointment
Sure but then the rewards are reduced by 500%.This should (or could) be available only when you have a party full of veterans. A window could pop up with a vote system. If everyone agrees, then the skip is available. Its a fair strategy. Maybe they would need to balance it somehow, its a short dungeon, easy leveling.
It's really not. Because if you end up in a party with a newbie people would whine that their 10/30 (probably less by now because that's how long they took before the cutscenes were enforced) run is no longer possible, then mass quit the instance because it simply would be fast to eat the penalty and requeue than deal with that short queue turning into an hour long affair. Likewise if you're not helping newbies, which is why the roulette gives such good experience, you have no right to the rewards. So the only way they could make that idea work is to absolutely nerf the rewards if no newbies are present. But then you get MORE problems in the opposite direction. This should (or could) be available only when you have a party full of veterans. A window could pop up with a vote system. If everyone agrees, then the skip is available. Its a fair strategy. Maybe they would need to balance it somehow, its a short dungeon, easy leveling.
The only fair ways to handle this matter are either to (A). Keep it as it is and just deal with it or (B). Turn them both into solo-trust instances. The latter would be preferred, but I can already imagine the unholy screeching people will do over losing the huge experience gains that MSQ roulette provides.
