Imagine being this bitter that new players want to see how the story plays out in a story-based MMORPG.We used to be able to skip the cutscenes in the 8 man story duties but people who chose to sit there and watch them all started crying because the people not watching them would clear the duty in the time it took to watch all the cutscenes.
So SE chose to appease the noisy minority and force everyone to watch them regardless and the amount of people actually queuing for them dropped considerably. The queue time for it was quite bad the last time I recall queuing for it. However that was a number of months ago.

Funny, i remember the opposite; "veterans" crying, yelling, and insulting anyone who didn't skip the cutscenes, no matter if it was your first time doing the Duty. Followed by things like how much you suck at this game. SE did the right thing (for the most part at least), but they should add freaking item level sync so it could finally be fun again

Agreed - at this point there needs to be something to slow down how quickly enemies die. It's gone beyond "an easy fight" and become an unsatisfying blur.
Castrum is still fine, and I'm not sure why Praetorium is less challenging... I guess there's some logic (at the original difficulty) that Lahabrea should be "hard but not so hard you get stuck" for story flow, but now it's such a walkover he can't even get through his script before he dies.

You do realize the MSQ Roulette exists purely for new players experiencing the story and not for people to level their 12th job? The only reason you even get so much EXP is because of those lengthily cut-scenes.We used to be able to skip the cutscenes in the 8 man story duties but people who chose to sit there and watch them all started crying because the people not watching them would clear the duty in the time it took to watch all the cutscenes.

"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
Naw, the right thing would be to actually fix it so it doesn't need it own roulette with greater rewards to force veterans to run it so new players can get past this part of the story. But to actually do that would take time and effort. This is at best a band aid. In fact all of the level 50 ARR party content needs a rework since they changed the sync especially the 24 mans.
Here's the thing: Square has made this a part of our daily rotation in leveling character. We didn't do that - they did. They pushed players away from fate grinding; they made these long, story-based instances the cornerstone of our grind.
So, like it or not, there are a ton of veterans in these dungeons, at all hours of the day, every day of the year. There are people who have seen these cutscenes play out hundreds - if not thousands - of times. And they are entitled to be a little tired of it.
And the response shouldn't be "WELL HUR HUR HUR, WHAT ABOUT THE NEWBS?!" Watch the damned thing on Youtube if you're so desperate for 20 minutes of scripted dialogue, half of which isn't even spoken.
Hi! Veteran player here. You know what I do when I don't want to watch the same cutscenes again and again? I just don't do it. You're not entitled to anything. Here's the thing: Square has made this a part of our daily rotation in leveling character. We didn't do that - they did. We're entitled to ask. And to keep asking. And until such time as someone taps their magic wand on your shoulder and makes you king, you're going to have to deal with it.

Oh, I do deal with it; by not simply running it when I don't want to. I'm not going to stomp my feet and show sympathy to players that clearly know what they are signing up for when they click on MSQ roulette.
You want to ask? Well:
"And the response shouldn't be "WELL HUR HUR HUR, WHAT ABOUT THE NEWBS?!" Watch the damned thing on Youtube if you're so desperate for 20 minutes of scripted dialogue, half of which isn't even spoken."
That's not asking. That's the same attitude that got us here in the first place.
So, yes. I will deal with it the same way I always have; by making a decision and not expecting others to abide by it my way.
