Starting to see a rise in "its easy content" flying around lately.

A couple of weeks ago, I joined a roulette and got The Ghimlyt Dark. The MOMENT the dungeon ques up, the healer shouts "speed run letttttttttsssss goooooooo". Normally I'm fine with this, but it is pretty clear someone is new (it's the tank!). So, the barrier goes down and the healer SPRINTS off towards the mobs quicker than the toilet paper aisle going empty at the local supermarket.

The tank clearly does not know what is going on and decides that the best step is to stick to one mob at a time just to be safe; ok, cool, the other DPS and I don't have a problem with this. Sure, a few extra minutes, I can live with that. This healer on the other hand, nope! Brought the next wave of mobs right to the tank!

I'm not an advocator for "You pull it, you tank it" (I use to be, but honestly whatever at this point; you want more then I'LL PULL MORE WHOOO!). However, I can clearly see the tank does not appreciate it as they did not pick up the extra mobs. Eventually, the healer replies, "Usually the tanks pull to the end! Let's go!" and my favorite "this is easy content!"

Perhaps it is easy content, but ultimately a team member was new and did not see it that way. At this point, I'm getting a bit annoyed. All it would have taken in the beginning was, "Do you mind pulling big?" If the tank said no, then okay. If they got an attitude, ok (you probably won't see them again anyway!). But, nope. No communication, just "this is easy content." I guess the final straw for me was when the healer RESCUED the tank into more mobs. I'm just...why?

I finally pipe up and say that although the content is "easy", you should not expect everyone to see it that way, and ultimately, you work with what you got and you make the best of it.

I will give credit where credit is due: No one wiped, and the healer apologized later and the tank did really well for their first run. Other DPS, you were awesome as well.

However, that's not the end of the story. The next following week I que up Crystal Tower Roulette (Alliance Roulette), and of course...I get Sycus Tower...again (is it like 98% Sycrus Tower?). We load up, everyone RACES OFF LIKE THEIR LIVES DEPENDED ON IT, and the new people get left behind.

Long story short, one tank does not wait at all for anyone and pulls continuously, ultimately "locking out" (not really anymore since they got rid of that and you can just pop in) more than half the alliance raids. Someone pipes up and states, "would be nice if you waited on people"; tank replies "its old content so what". Other people talk about "shut up and get your clear" "its easy" "lol waiting in so-and-so raid" and your typical fun Moogle meme.

Once again, credit where credit is due: Party did great and no wipes.

Still, I'm honestly tired of Alliance Roulette as 1) it is almost always a CT raid and 2) the complete disregard to mechanics and other players because "old content is old". Just...wait a few seconds I suppose. I understand that it is quite commomplace to see these kind of events take place (especially in older raids), but I'm honestly tired of seeing complete clusterducks because nobody is paying attention to mechanics or that people are in such a hurry that players end up getting locked out and rejoining, only to rejoin with the wrong alliance and wrong team (looking at you Atomos). Anyway, that's enough of my ranting. I'm sure I'll be back with more, have a good night!

Reminds me of this one run in Labyrinth someone pulled Thanatos while the entirety of alliance A wasn't even there yet. Or the classic one...the Atomos -- either everyone is on platform or no one is, and more than a few times where we wiped (yes, wiped) because half the raid is sent to alliance A thanks to SOMEONE pulling before time and locking everyone out.

I just love the irony that, in their haste, those who want to speed up runs actually make them last longer.

I'm sure you do. Pretty sure you're not boss of the world, though. 3 other people mean things too.

That is true, but the three other people should at the very least be open to try it. Especially if your healer is telling you to go for it. This form of encouragement is rare and we should cherish it when it happens. I do not see it as bossy more so as a healer having confidence in their own ability and that confidence in turn could also give the other players in the group the confidence to step put from their comfort zone.

Imo seal the Boss room till enough ppl are there, Its just sad new ppl cant watch shi# without being left in the dirt, the teleport only made it worse as rushers mostly get their way by force - unless you get those lovely wipes when everyone is on the wrong spot...

Actually got another one as this took place just last night!

Loaded up with a friend of mine from the FC to do a 50/60/70 roulette. We decided to do a competition with another group from the FC to see which party would clear their roulette first; we end up getting Sohm Al (Hard) while they get Snowcloak (psssh).

The dungeon--although my favorite because of the rocking music--was rather uneventful. However, I did notice that mobs were taking a lot longer to kill than usual. It was then I noticed the BLM's rotation: Blizzard III, Blizzard III, Blizzard III, Thunder II, Thunder II, Fire III, Blizzard III, Blizzard III, Blizzard III....AGHHHHH!!!!

The BLM was not new; had several classes at lv80 and was wearing Deepshadow gear on all sides. Still, didn't want to make assumptions because you know what they say about assumptions. It makes an arse out of my cat.

I explain the rotation a little bit only to met with zero response and then I hear the frustration from my healer friend: The BLM is standing in everything.....no Ley Lines as excuse either. Just. Standing. Still. Casting Blizzard.

    ......OK!

As the run continues, and the mobs die ever so slowly (like the soul being sucked out of body), the BLM eventually dies to a trash mob. Now this is where things get REAL interesting. The BLM teleports back to start and sprints back to our location. And boy DO I MEAN SPRINT. Them legs were moving faster than I have ever seen in the many years I've played this game (took literally less than a couple of seconds to catch up to us). I was...dumbfounded. I can't
even explain how fast those dang feet were moving.

I'm honestly wondering what the hell I just saw and needless to say, I spent the rest of the dungeon staring at the BLM's feet waiting to see if there was some kind of explanation to what just transpired.

Was it a server tick? Bot? Hack? Something in the water I just drank? Had to poop super bad? No idea.

The rest of the run continues as normal: Blizzard III, Blizzard III, Blizzard III, Thunder II, Thunder II, Fire III, Blizzard III, Blizzard III, Blizzard III....and the little bird on my shoulder clarified what I had already discovered. My healer friend...beat the BLM in damage output.

I think at that point I've seen everything and decided at the point I needed to go to bed, because goodness gracious I think I was going crazy.

EDIT: We ended up winning the competition by the way! The other party got stuck on the Second boss on Snowcloak because someone kept killing the Spriggans.

Yeah. I totally agree with you. It happened to me a lot when I was new as well. The phrase "running around like a headless chicken" is an understatement to how I felt.

I've heard in the past that "well, I got use to it, so should they," but shouldn't that be an incentive NOT to do that to other players? Still hilarious when the wipe happens and being shout in chat "LOL WHY WE WIPE?!"

    Well, duh....

This was a sad day. Did my MS roulette and had both tanks quit on the spot (reiterating the demand that players be made to stay for at least 15 minutes made in a previous post), had healers who couldn't even handle healing single mobs, got Chrystalis for Trial roulette and the 3X Limit Break was used... by the Off Tank. Then just now, had a 50-70 roulette in Xelphatol where we had a new healer and the Ninja in our party left them behind. So yeah, can't wait to move on from this day.

Having those two tanks stay for 15 min probably would not have helped anyone. I know if I was forced to stay in a dungeon for 15 min I would just force dc for 15. Which would make finding a new tank even harder cause then the group would have to wait to remove the player.
