Unless I'm mistaken, other classes don't have the ability to make part of their weapon, or OH, invisible? So the shield is somewhat unique in that respect.

Might be above the cost (if you feel one Mgp is one Gil) but it’s in line with mgp cost stuff as it is when most are about the 80-100k mgp.
As far as I know the only one that can is monk. The Emperor's New Fists which I think can be bought from the same vendor as the other ones?
I really think it's as simple as just not changing the price on an item that was already for sale. I mean it's not really an "appearance" per SE but depending on your priorities it could suck to be able to buy it for mgp one day and then the second the Garo event ends it drops to 2k Gil on a vendor you might not even have access to and leave you stuck buying it off the mb :P or out 100k mgp you just spent and no longer need to
It also isn't a tradeable item right now whereas the other invisible items are afaik

I think they've just recycled the item information from the Garo shield without giving it much more thought. They haven't expanded it to being equippable by mages, either.
The reason why is probably due to what another poster posted: SE chose to give the shieldless option in case folks realized later that it existed before and it was no longer an option (due to it originally being a Garo item, which yes I'm very aware you know of it's existence).
That being said, due to how you had to get all the other items when they were available that item was going to be worth MGP regardless (to keep complaining to a minimum suppose) and due to when they added it (I'm pretty sure it's more of a recent addition) instead of just the gil. Would you be upset with them if they stuck it in the Gold Saucer and it had a different name? If you wouldn't be than you should just relax a bit, I'm pretty sure that name was given so they wouldn't have to think and could just inject it back into the game as quick as they could so they wouldn't have to put any extra effort into coming up with an invisible name.
If the intention is to be consistent with Garo perhaps they should have one available for Wolf Marks too?
10 seconds? Like a full agonizing minute!OP: Youve convinced me. The rest of the Emporers New set of gear is too cheap. Raise the prices to be more in line with the shield.
Honestly, you could probly make that much in 30 mins or less. An 80+pt fashion report is 60k for sitting through a 10 second cutscene. A few 3 min matches in Verminion would finish it off. You might even be able to play triad quick enough to finish within 30 mins.
Source: queue popped right as I started the cutscene and I missed it this morning.
I literally mentioned the invisible PGL/MNK weapon in the first post (which is also 2k gil, like all the other pieces other than the shield)Unless I'm mistaken, other classes don't have the ability to make part of their weapon, or OH, invisible? So the shield is somewhat unique in that respect.
Probably because they don't use shields anymore? They haven't expanded it to being equippable by mages, either.
I mean, I wouldn't keep your hopes up for this one. They've very clearly branched (heh) away from this after ARR.
Probably not, no. Just the fact they called it "Emperor's New" gear makes it clear they obviously thought of the rest of the set of gear, but they then intentionally decided to give it that name yet not put it on the same vendor and for the same price as the rest of the gear, and I find that decision questionable.Would you be upset with them if they stuck it in the Gold Saucer and it had a different name?
Also wouldn't be opposed to that.If the intention is to be consistent with Garo perhaps they should have one available for Wolf Marks too?
