    New WS animations?

    I know that they pushed this back with 1.20, so just a question.

    Will we be getting new WS animations for classes? Not the new ones, but for existing ones. I find that they are still mostly the same and since we only have a specific amount of them, will we see some more variations in them? Like Pugilists new animation for haymaker looks cool, but the visual effect doesn't make sense lol. He's punching straight but the visual is a cat scratch swipe.

    And another big question, will we finally get a system that stops the use of overwriting other weaponskills? Like if you use a weaponskill right after the first one, it stops the animation and starts the new one. I know everyone does this and I do too but it takes a lot away from the visuals that are created.

    If I recall the new animations are for the Jobs while there will likely be reworked casting animations and etc for current classes.

    They did say new animations in general will be in 1.21, so while Bayo and Rukki said there will be lots of info this week, they may post about it or it'll just spring up in the update without needing a dedicated news entry for it.

    I think all the current actions are going to be getting new animations in 1.21? I have to look around for the info again.

    On the 2nd point, I think at launch we couldn't use moves until animations finished playing out and it was super annoying and slowed things down a lot. Being able to cancel animations does speed things up and you could just wait for your animations to finish if it bugs you that much. I don't watch others fighting unless they want to show me their cool new WS or their damage so how others look doesn't bother me =P

    i'm still little angry about doomspike that WS looked awesome now looks dull and boring and like the rest of the LNC WS but at the same time they have there reason prob for doing it i hope.

    WOuld like to see these get fixed but from the videos i see of monk and warrior weapon skills they do look pretty sweet

    Hope so! Need some variety in WS animations indeed.. i'm tired to make 'a turn around' for 3 different WS (gla) lol >_<

    I actually prefer it this way. Why would you want to stay locked in place for the duration of 2-3 weapon skill animations instead of just 1?

    I actually wish they would carry this over to weapon skill > light shot as well. Currently if you use light shot during a weapon skill animation, you have to wait for BOTH animations to finish before you can move again, even though the effects on the target of both actions are finished before the WS animation is done. Such a pain in the ass.

    It's not so much about speeding up combat, but what it's doing is rushing combat and it's ALREADY too fast. I played swtor for a couple of weeks and I enjoyed that you couldn't overwrite another skill by activating another as much as it is in this one. The visuals of this game are GREAT and the animations are so life-like.

    Plus if you have rushed weaponskills, you'll end up almost like one of those mmo's where you have to hit 123456 as fast as you can to win. I know starting the combos will be what sets it aside, but overwriting animations for damage output just seems bad. I don't know, it seems more than just an opinion to me xD

    Cancelling happens all the time in most other game genres (fighting games come to mind). I think its fun trying to get as many self-buffs off as possible and having to position/get the WS off before the combo effect wears off. Not letting us cancel leaves us with the same situation like Animation lock in that it restricts player control. I wouldn't really mind Animation cancelling being removed as long as it was still in for self-buffs and WS's had quicker animations. Even then once I've seen the animation a few times I really don't have to see it over and over again no matter how good it looks.

    I really want self buffs to not have animations at all sometimes, or they don't cause you animation lock. At least in my opinion.

    Yeah I thought it was neat when berserk didn't have an animation but I guess that was a bug haha
