So if I am understanding the letter correctly which I just got to reading, we are going to have to complete this Southern Front to finish the relic weapon. This is going to be exactly like eureka all over again.

Eureka is better than pointless fishing on a boat or economy breaking crafting changes that makes gil making several times worse due to the bots.
Oh no, content that will actually take longer than an hour!
From what I UNDERSTOOD, is that the Bozjan Frontline is only ONE way of progressing the relic, but they haven't revealed what will be the other ways, I assume it'll be something to do with tomes. So if Eureka 2.0 ends up being vastly improved, then yay; if not, at least we'll have OTHER ways to continue the relic quest.
Nothing wrong with Eureka type content plenty of people like it. Also read the whole part posted on the weapons.
There will be two ways to update the weapons. One will be the eureka like content and other will be some other means, but both will require the base relic story.Weapons can be upgraded through two methods.
One involves upgrading them as you progress through the Bozjan Southern Front, while the other involves upgrading weapons through different means. Whichever method you choose, you’ll be required to progress the Save the Queen storyline.
They've said that the "Eureka 2.0" content is only going to be one way to power up your relic.
You simultaneously didnt understand it correctly, and its most likely nowhere near the depth of content that eureka had.
As long as its not glorified fate farming like Eureka was and instead something a little more creative and fun, I am totally cool with it.
I am not getting my hopes up though....
You will still need to complete the save the queen story line, which I am sure will require you to max out your level in the Southern Front. So besides whatever it is you need to do to complete the actual weapon, you will also need to sink hours and hours into this other content.
I mean, if by "hours and hours" you mean the occasional storyline cutscene or instance, I guess. From my interpretation, I doubt it will be all that much more expansive than what we've already seen. Progress your weapon to a certain point using whichever of the two methods you choose and then do maybe an hour of storyline content.
