You forget the excuse where cash shop proceeds go back into the game and yet we get less and less content.I'm just hear to read all the excuses people are going to make for having a cash shop in a buy to play mmo with a monthly sub that even requires you to buy extra storage because they refuse offer the basic functionality other games provide like shared storage between characters all while providing us with consistently less content.
And let's not forget how it is then followed by the personal offense they are taking from having actual legitimate criticism about the game and/or business practices of their favorite game/company. Instead of engaging in actual discourse about the subject.
Yep these threads are always interesting.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Fair enough. I guess I'll just wait for when they change the general fashion theme to something that suits me better. To be honest the fae dress isn't my cup of tea either. That gear is Crystarium gear, so it's most likely designed after what people in the Crystarium wear - not what the people in Eulmore wear. As the people in the Crystarium are working folk with their gear being basic or armour a bit of a low-fantasy twist, the armor sets fit perfectly.
I like the Crystarium gear you showed more than I do the fae dress. It's more visually appealing, doesn't have gaudy additions like the wings, dyes very nicely, and doesn't have strange pixelated textures. Once again, it's subjective. Just putting my two cents out there that in my opinion, there isn't a quality issue going on, it just happens to not cater to your taste.
That is what THEY did. Please go back to my original post THEY responded too. I was simply posting my opinion and this person attacked me in an all caps rage and called me dumb. That is super offensive and not at all what a normal person would do.
We're paying for access not content. You don't need it to play the game. Those that want it, buy it. Those that dont, aren't forced to buy it. It's not double dipping to someone who DECIDES to pay extra money for something exclusive to the store and a purchase they feel is worth it. When we start getting items that are forced purchases to be able to play the game, then we have an issue. Compared to the free and easy items we get with almost every in game event, including some kick @ss mounts, glamours, and knock knacks, I would hardly say they are greedy. We get tons of extras for free from them and the devs.Because you're already paying for content, so technically you're paying for it twice. There's no reason not to include it in a game that they're already making money off of with copies sold + monthly fees.
There are two kinds of people who make these arguments, fanboys and whales.
Either you're such an obsessed fan you are willing to accept anything and everything the company does to the point where you have to white knight it, or you have so much money to throw away that you think since this is not a problem for you, it's not a problem for anyone.
If youre only counter commentary is to call me an obsessive person or a gullible person with to much money, youre not really standing on fairly solid reasoning. But I guess if you cant take the time to respond reasonably, then the next best thing is to assume things about your detractors so you can be feel justified. There are two kinds of people who make these arguments, fanboys and whales.

I still am left to wonder if you become outraged that the gift shop at Zoos charge you even though you bought a ticket at the gate to see the animals.
So we get one of these every time we get something new. Wonderful. I bought the mount for a friend the outfit isn't to my taste so no go for me. Wonder what the next outfit will be.
The zoo example is not in any way shape or form a valid comparison since buying a tacky t-shirt from a gift shop is not meant to enhance the experience of going to the zoo. It's meant to be purchased as memorabilia of your trip to the zoo. Glamour speficially enhances my gameplay and is a major part of the reason I play FFXIV. This means I'm being asked to pay twice. Three times really if you consider the entry cost before the monthly fee.Ok now you can't be serious. You're not paying for anything twice because you 1- only pay for it once, and 2- you don't even 'have' to pay for it, you WANT it, it's not the same whilst you do need to pay to keep playing. Also not everyone who defends this is a [wealthy] white knight, so please, stop dismissing everyone who disagrees with your views as such, this is literally just how business work - nobody, at any point, is forcing you to buy anything from the store.
The zoo example they gave is actually a valid comparison, you don't get access to -everything- in an establishment only because you paid to get in at all.
I think it's funny though that you reduce my argument to an ad hominem after that was already used on me multiple times with people calling me "entitled". Which makes no sense at all.
You called me "entitled", so you have no leg to stand on there. I mean you're clearly not about anything but gainsaying arguments so why should I put the effort in to debate you?If youre only counter commentary is to call me an obsessive person or a gullible person with to much money, youre not really standing on fairly solid reasoning. ... Wut?
I thought it was clear that that person was mocking people like the OP, showing how even if the only things on the mog station were potions SOMEONE would still find issue with it ("I THINK YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET THEM IN GAME! Dissagree? You're just a shill, but I guess you gotta protect this "small indie" right?!?" is very much the thought process people are running with when they whine about this stuff)
Anyway, as for the topic, this is stupid.
So what ... the Mog Station can't sell anything remotely relayed to in game lands/ locations/ lore cause then "wHy cAn'T I geT tHiS fRoM iN GAME coNteNt!?!?"? WTF is yall problem? :/
Were people doing this when we were in NOT Japan in the story and the Mog Station suddenly had ... a lot of Japanese and eastern themed glams?
I could see if the ONLY new glams were stuff you had to buy. Would tots suck if I had to spend real money on "The Nier Pack" to get a line up of glam based on Nier and got nothing from doing the 24 men raid other than tomes and copied gear from SB. But no, that's not the case ... we get mog station glam and mounts like once a blue moon were as every big in game up-date gives us tons of new goods.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will NEVER be a fan of cash shops for P2P games ... but that being said FF14 does it the best with the most honest and up front model I've seen. I have nothing to b&m about with the cash shop.
