Plus, we also don't know if Males mate with only one Female or several when he visits the village, which would lead to a higher chance for boys to be born. The Lore reasoning, as always, is easily handwaved by the fact that the WoL is the definition of special circumstances: A rare Duskwight that is accepted in Gridania without question, a rare Au Ra walking into Ishgard, a Hrothgar entering Gridania or Ul'Dah in 2.0 content, a NUHN walking around without a harem, or a Moonkeeper male... just... out in the open.

There is NO canon Lore reason for the WoL arriving in Eorzea, so a Male Viera or Female Hrothgar arriving as a PC is the LEAST Lore-breaking thing there would be. Again, we can count Male Keepers of the Moon with one hand, but they're still playable

Check any thread that is relevant to suggestions in relation to male characters and there's a notable number of players posting on female characters who insist that it isn't needed. In quite a few cases they show up in threads related to female character customisation demanding that something is added right away. As was the case for many male viera naysayers who lost their minds over the 2B outfit adjustments.

I doubt that I'm the only poster in this thread who has noticed such things.

If this was HW/early SB Theo I would be agreeing with you 100% as males were given less options in sheer quantity of items they could use while female characters got unique and a unisex at the same time.

Nowadays though SE seem to have learned to try and keep a balance on how much they offer to each gender they occasionally dip one way then readjust back soon after. Right now yea more female npc mog station outfits have been released one after another but I expect them to release multiple male ones soon (as in before 6.0 soon). When the biggest imbalance is male npcs outfits being unique, we are in a pretty damn good game with regards to gendered outfits(play BDO or Tera to really see how bad it can get and thank you devs for moving away from that slope).

Face features is something I think that would be great to add to CC but what do you offer females as an equivalent that couldn't be there for males that most people who play male characters would be ok in not having, or do you give female characters face fuzz, hey i'll be all for it but that would be for people of a very very small niche compared. (Also I was baffled by Yoshi P's response to the demand for WoL's stubble)

He's referring to behaviours he's observed on the forum, not by SE.

Females don't need that feature. Not sure why they have to compensate female characters at all for expanding a feature specific to males. The baseline is that males can possess facial hair as it is... adding one more to the list implies nothing for the female characters.

Also the 2B butt thing was something that was added then removed before the complaints whereas male Vieras have yet to be added so comparing the two is off as "Why was this changed could you change it back?" And "I do not want to see male Viera added" are very different. Honestly wish males got as big a booty as females did while wearing it but say la ve.

Simple reason why do X gender gets something but Y gender gets nothing.

And when it is something like the CC creator which many people of both genders want improvements to best to give something to all than 1 at a time. Longer wait but generally more people happy once they do it.

I'm not convinced that there's more balance these days - especially when a lot of new hairstyles and outfits for male characters are designed to be feminine or androgynous. The number of people playing male characters who actually want to wear a dress is very much a minority. Albeit a very vocal one. Requests for additional tattoo, scar and facial hair options have been put forward for years - predating even the requests for viera to be added in the first place.

There's also a pretty jarring contrast in the amount of effort put into the NPC outfits sold on the Mog Station/used by canon characters. Hien plays a much greater role in the story than Lyse but the textures of his outfit are very stretched and unpolished. Much more effort was put into ensuring that the likes of Alma, Yotsuyu, Lyse and Y'shtola had unique dresses.

One also only has to look at how quickly the 2B outfit was fixed when the enhancements to female character's rear ends were compromised. It received an official statement and was very quickly reverted - which is much more than can be said of the problems that exist with the male character models/specific gear that looks botched.

Then when we tie things back to male viera, those of us who enjoy playing male characters were expected to settle for hrothgar because we 'needed something different' but those who prefer to play female characters received yet another conventionally attractive race. That isn't to say that I'm against the inclusion of Hrothgar (especially now that Gangos/Bozja has actually established them as part of the game world) but there's something of a double standard to it all.

Females already get a bust slider as it is. However, I doubt anyone's going to complain that they expand the male facial hair options a bit. Overall CC improvements are in high demand, but I expect most people would be more satisfied with better textures and a greater variety of options, rather than SE just tacking on a feature arbitrarily for the sake of some imaginary tally, like facial hair for females, which the vast majority of people would say adds nothing to/detracts from their looks.

No, no and no. You weren't expected to choose Hrothgar and everything would be forgotten or "You needed something different". They never said that. You, yourself, implied that. They are working toward adding the missing genders or they would just straight up say "No, were not adding them", which they have not said yet which means obviously they are.

As for your "Balance".....blame your community. People swarmed the idea of wanting male characters able to wear dresses and this and that but when it comes to actual manly characteristics, they turn the other way. You may think it was a minority but apparently alot of people supported it hence why it's now in the game. Also female characters will always be more popular in MMO's.

The continued insistence on MORE LORE NEEDED is silly when we get an xpac with new lore built on top of what we currently have every 2 years. How to explain m viera? Garlemald. War. Ascian shenanigans. Take your pick. Hrothgar, F viera, Au Ra - none of these were common sights outside their ~conveniently far away homeland~ in large numbers until..they were suddenly allowed to. And now no one bats an eye in-game or as players.
