I might just be in the minority here...but I still think the idea of classes and jobs just seems redundant...we have alrdy defined the roles that the classes play...we don't need jobs to do that...and the classes are flexible enough as they are, I mean what exactly is the difference between a cnj concentrating on healing as opposed to a whm...they're both going to do the same thing...I won't invite a cnj to dd or be a magic dd...because thats not where it strengths are...
I do think a system like FFT/FFTA would work extremely well or just giving classes all of these job abilities...But like I said I'm prob in the minority here.

This. and this is why the job system did not make sense to me. I will invite a CNJ to a party cause I want him as a healer. I don't care if he's a WHM or not. Hell, for the current content (and how easy it's) I don't need him to specialize as WHM, it's better if he can get abilities from other jobs.

The only job that make sense, the ONLY one, is BRD branching out of ARC. That does completely change the class, and that is how it should have been for the rest.

CNJ to red mage and THM to blue mage yes. but to WHM and BLM? they are and always were a WHM and a BLM... wtf does the job system do? add more abilities? seriously? Then again, that puts the future RDM into a peculiar position if he have to lvl CNJ and THM.. does he take CNJ base? or THM base? or both? or do you get the choice? (RDM with healing or nuking tendencies, hey it's actually a nice idea. Throw in a GLA in there and make him with melee tendencies)

The old idea (not sure if it's still the current plan) was to make it so Jobs didn't have access to cross-class abilities, i.e. no using Cure on a Monk. Not sure if the plan has changed, since that was hinted at a pretty long time ago.

And current content being easy enough doesn't mean the two new dungeons, which are designed for Jobs and not Classes, are going to be.

If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
