Agreed.
Been playing since 1.0 and while the overall quality of the content has definitely increased, the watering down of each patch cycle is past noticeable.

I would've been fine if they didn't release a new race at all and took that time to develop Viera and Hrothgar so they won't be so half-baked. We also needed more customization on existing races and I wish that happened instead for this expansion. It would've given them more time to develop the new races and it'll be less effort for them since the assets already exist.

It wouldn't have been fine at all cause then people would be complaining about that too. Both races are extremely popular. You see them everywhere. I'm more bothered by the lack of hairstyles then head gear but that's me. I hope we'll get a major update to those soon as in 4.3 and am a bit surprised it's taking so long to get something. Redesigning all the head gear for both races isn't in the cards I don't believe.

Agree completely with that. There certainly could be more customization there. I wish they would add beards in there too. I wish I could get a decent beard for old FuSoYa here. The one I liked was on the ugliest face (but I'll most likely change back as I cant get with the "young" Fu look) but he was unique. Both races are extremely popular. You see them everywhere. Was very glad this hair was released with ShB though.
I mean, either way both scenarios would just end up with people complaining. Personally I think it's better to wait on something to be totally complete than prematurely release it and get players annoyed over how unfinished it is, with updates also serving as bandage fixing over the situation.
Releasing half-baked races or half-baked anything is something they should never do, especially with the history of this game.

I suspect that resources are being diverted from Final Fantasy XIV onto FF7 Remake and this has resulted in the quality of content dropping sharply. SE has likely been using FFXIV subs to fund FF7 remake development. I am hoping that now that FF7 remake has released they can divert some resources back to FFXIV development though with the new world crisis occuring this has thrown development of all content world wide into question.
Unfortunately apart from the Shadowbringers MSQ on release being amazing I feel the rest of the content has been somewhat disappointing this expansion. Sure its great we have new content for crafters/gatherers with the Ishgard rebuild but the majority of players prefer combat classes and some don't touch DoH or DoL classes at all so they'll be feeling like they've gained nothing from the expansion apart from the new classes and races.
We definitely need a deep dungeon this expansion to give players repeatable content that can be used as an alternative to leveling via duty finder / fates.
Stage 1 of the relic is easy, this is to get people hooked.
You get your 1st dime beg free but after that start paying.
Only thing I don't really care for is the one Drex, but there is so much content to cap on it no biggy.
There is a lot of ShB content you left out. Like crafting overhaul, rebuilding.
As for the 2 races, new races does make content.
Yes people switched to the new races but would they have lost players with out them that is the question.
Deep dungeon doesn't come out till x.35 normally I believe this is content to carry people over till 6

Considering what's been released of FF7R is only one of (at least?) three parts of the game, your hopes might be misplaced.I suspect that resources are being diverted from Final Fantasy XIV onto FF7 Remake and this has resulted in the quality of content dropping sharply. That's if SQEX continues with the whole project. I'm not too sure how many people are going to want to continue to purchase the next installments since the end of this one turned FF7 into kingdom hearts with time travel BS and basically unhooked the current game's timeline from what the original was supposed to be.
If it was a faithful remake, i'm sure they'd have people buying each one 'cause they want to see the story they know/love in crisp current graphics and voice acting... Will people want to see a completely different story unfold in games 2 and 3 and effectively erase the canon ending of the first game in the FF7 narrative timeline? Who knows.. only time will tell, i suppose.
