Locking dyable artifact gear behind a extreme trial, good idea?

I like them trying different things but I'd love to know why they went with extreme difficulty for this trial. Was kinda hoping that it would be something I could just DF with any friends of any skill level. It's also only the 2nd time ever that a TT card has been locked behind an Ex fight. The other was Thordan for some reason, didn't drop on normal mode like other cards.

Extreme and savage is for raiders generally speaking. So why block our dyeable AF gear that is for EVERYONE behind a trial like this? It is so upsetting to me. Extreme and savage versions are special content for a certain type of player and a lot of the player base is like me...we play to relax and have fun and have no desire for the stress and anxiety that come with Extreme content. SE, this is VERY UNFAIR!!! I truly hope you make a change to this and fix it soon.

Extremes are for everyone. For some reason, recently people seem to think anything harder than normal mode is for hardcore raiders only...


Not sure where this is all coming from. Back in 2.0, more people did ex fights and raids. Now suddenly if it's any kind of difficult it's too much.

I think their will be a way to unweather the i430 gear and make it dyeable in a future patch (likely tied to MSQ completion). The EX trail is just for an early access dyeable version of the armor with 5 materia slots. Dyeable versions of the i430 weapons do not exist yet.

We already seem to outgear the fight pretty horribly.

I haven't seen his enrage cast even in runs that had several deaths across the entire party after quite a bit of farming.

This fight is a lot more lenient then a typical EX trial in terms of the DPS check, so it's really mostly about the execution (Which is also very lenient as you have forever to find the safe zones compared to some other EXs or savage).

It may be not the best idea, but it's not the worse either (not worse than locking it behind Savage at least *looks at a3s*).

If we are going to be back to traditional ARR/HW grind, then I would say that there are steps like "clear 500 dungeons" and "do 150 fates in every area to get an item" awaiting for us further ahead. 10 runs of a semi-midcore content for a set of armor isn't that bad in comparison to routine grind. I'm stucked on a phase 3 now, and tbh, the trial isn't that hard, we had harder EX encounters for sure.

Also, just as with a3s HW AF armor, maybe they will eventually add alliance coins for this set as well.

Yeah me too, I said I would help out a friend but I just can't do it, PF is so stressful. If only they made EX solo, then I'd definitely be going at it.

Real question is when will we be able to cheese this with our gear, 6.0? 5.5? We'll have to wait and see
